| I purchased my certified gm used vehicle in october 2004- 2 months later i had to replace the serpentine belt and have the transmission 'solenoid' replaced, front brakes and rotors .some 100+ point inspection . in nov of 2005 i took the vehicle back in due to improper shifting, there i was told they had to do a lot of transmisson work. they had my car for 2 days. now in april of 2006 my car barely makes it to 40 mph, chugging all the way. the mechanic referred me to the dealership because there is no fuel problem and the computer needs to be checked-possibly replaced. a car with 65000 miles on it should not have this many problems. *jb | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 2001 pontiac grand prix. the contact stated that she had recurring failure with her anti-lock brakes. while braking, the abs and traction service lights illuminated on the dashboard and a grumbling sound can be heard coming from the brakes. the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact that the hubs needed to be replaced. the vehicle was repaired independently. the failure continued to occur. the failure mileage was approximately 67,000. the current mileage was approximately 72,200. | |||

| Rear brake lights not working, but third center brake light is working. took to mechanic (pep boys) who changed the brake pads, rotors, brake fluid and replaced the bulbs and fuses, (as well as a motor w/reg for the driver's side rear window, serpentine belt, alternator drive belt, tie rod outer and oil change). when i got the car back, realized they never fixed the problem. returned the car and told it was the multifunction switch at a price of $450.00. this is great considering my bill for everything was $1,500.00, and the problem i brought it in for (brake lights) was never fixed. on web site: http://www.autoweb.com/content/research/forums/index.cfm/action/posts/fid/2831 there are approximately 119 complaints all about the multifunctional switch on pontaic vehicles. i am hoping that at some point the issue will be addressed to save other unsuspecting poor souls that bought a pontiac (grand prix gt). *tr | |||

| Consumer states of having problems with the abs system .dealer was contacted, it was found that the wheel speed sensor on the right front was damaged by a foreign object or debris from the road which may have caused damage to the sensor wiring, the consumer believes that this component should be protected by a small shield to prevent this from occurring. mr *nlm *dt | |||

| Tl*the contact owns a 2001 pontiac grand prix. the contact stated that the normal brakes work, but the vehicle skids occasionally when coming to a complete stop. he stated that the abs and traction control system were no longer working properly. the dealer stated that the wheel speed sensor harness was very hard and brittle. the wheel speed sensor harness was replaced by the dealer. the speed and failure mileage were unknown. the current mileage was 71,000. | |||
