My 2002 pontiac grand prix gt had the following issue which i believe should be a recall. - i was driving my vehicle when my heater blower motor shut off. i would drive for a few more minutes then it would come back on. this would happen at the freq of 1 time per month. the freq began to increase to the point is was several times per km. off, on, off, on etc. i eventually took it to the dealer, it was a wire harness $ 500.00 maintenance is what it is, but the same problem turns the headlights off ( not dash lights ) and rear defrost off. in the summer i was driving my vehicle and my headlights were flashing a pedestrian walking infront of my vehicle. it was then i realized the headlights were affected. this is an fyi *tr

1)lost one speed on heater fan, than lost all speeds. obviously in this climate, the defroster is a very important accessory. had the heater resister replaced and got 4 speeds which was ok. it`s now 1 week later and it stopped working again. on a 2002 vehicle, this should not be happening. the warranty has run out because of mileage. *ak

2002 pontiac grand prix- - catalytic converter failed at 66,300 miles. put in shop because gm would not stand by their extended emissions component warranty. my cost $690.00 car is pure junk. power windows work when it is colder outside, but when temp is above 75-80 degrees can't open windows to breathe>>>>>>>>>>>>>. *tr

All 4 power windows do not operate in warm to hot weather. each window has it's own, different, unique, temperature in which it will not operate independent of the other windows. driver's windows stops operating above 60, driver's side passenger window stops operating above 65, shotgun window stops operating above 85, and shotgun side passenger window stops working above 80. all degrees are farenheight. this is a safety factor at tolls, government installation front gates, military bases, etc. also is a general safety issue (fogging, bugs, emergency exiting).

Major window failure, only one window works, and too expensive to fix. my car has 70,000 miles and i have had fuel pump failure, total radiator failure, and two heat exchanger failures resulted in radiator fluid all over passenger side floor due too cheap crimps on heat exchanger which requires a hugh dash dismantle to fix, window failure, dash heat and a/c control failure. the car gets driven 11 miles a day to work and back and we have put $1000's into this piece of crap. dealer and manufacturer could care less and want this website removed. no one is willing to do a thing. will be switching brands asap to dodge or chrysler. *jb

2002 pontiac grand prix. window regulators. these replacement parts are the second and third regulators that have needed to be replaced. our vehicle has only 50,000 miles on it (over the warranty period) but it is obvious that these regulators were manufactured with a design flaw. our windows are hardly ever used here in california, summer time with 100 degree heat the air is on all the time, and then in the winter the heat is on. back in 2005 your company reimbursed our cost of the first regulator that when defected on our and i believe that your company will do the right thing again this time. when these regulators fail, the window falls down into the door leaving the driver to being exposed to bad weather. *jb

Passenger window mechanism broke, letting the window fall down into the door. the only way to repair it was to replace the whole mechanism. even that thee only part that needed to be place was a small piece of plastic that a metal cable runs through, cost of repair was $517.00 for a $20.00 part. *nm

In june 2005 the passenger side window motor on my 2002 grand prix gtp broke and just today now the driver's side has done exactly the same. back in june it cost me over $400 to have a used part installed and that was not even easy to find. i am going to have to get this fixed asap and worried that once again i will have a problem finding the part. i will be making a direct complaint to pontiac as well as i believe that it is ridiculous to have this happen to two windows in less than 4 years. i live in south florida and rarely even use the windows because the a/c is always on. very disappointing. *nm

Dt: 2002 pontiac grand prix. the consumer stated the front passenger window fell down, then, the driver's rear window fell off four days later, and finally the passenger's rear window fell off the next day. this problem started on august 24, 2005. the motor regulators for the front windows were replaced about a year and a half ago. the vehicle was taken to the dealership. the first two windows were fixed. when the third window fell off he consumer contacted pontiac, and they paid for the repairs. the manufacturer stated they would reimburse the consumer for the previous work, but they called back today and stated they would not. *ak

The windows in my grand prix just started failing and dropped down into the door and would not operate at all. the first on went then 4 days later the 2nd one went and the next day a 3rd window broke again. each time we had to take the car to the dealership and have the motor and regulator replaced at 600.00 each time. this car is only 3 years old and should not have this problem. this was also bogus since gm refuse to make the regulator without the motor so they can charge double on the part at 350.00+dollars. this is absurd that this is not a recall issue yet. and the service provided by ponitac is insulting. *jb

Through normal use, all four window regulator motors on my 2002 grand prix have had cable breaks or entanglement with the housing. 2 (front) have been replaced by myself at the cost of aftermarket part of $90 per instance. 2 (rear) have been pre-paid for $90 per item, but remain a back ordered/unavailable item - 1 part since june. 3 of original parts are still available for inspection. the two rear windows have required imaginative solutions to remain in a closed position. the most recent occurrence is listed as the incident date. *jb
