I purchased a 2005 pontiac gto in april of this year, it had a factory warranty still with it. it has been in the shop more then i have driven it. the abs light has been on 4 times so far. the ecu module has been replaced twice so far. this is an on going problem. the car is going back into the shop as soon as a part comes in. the dealership is aware that is an on going problem. i think this car is a lemon, and i am not sure what i can do about it. the factory warranty expires next week. i would like to know if someone can please help me with this situation. they have replaced the hub in the car once and i have taken the car back and told them it is still doing the same thing i brought it in for before. i am getting tired of not being about to enjoy my car without something going wrong with it. the back seats are also coming undone which i was told it should be covered under the factory warranty which it is not. *tr

Purchased vehicle new, with 13 miles, on april 30, 2005. vehicle's ecm failed after 1025 miles, at end of august, 2005. ecm replaced by dealer. failure of ecm placed undue stress on motor. i believe that this lead to the vehicle's engine failure reported in nhtsa claim number 010188397. old ecm was returned to gm by jim armstrong pontiac. motor from claim number is available until servicing dealer completes warranty work, and returns motor to gm. *jb

Dt: the contact states there are multiple problems with the vehicle. she has taken the vehicle to the dealership. on april 26, 2005 they replaced the computer, harness, throttle body, engine relay switch, clamps and hangers to the exhaust system. then on august 11, 2005 they replaced some missing strut tower nuts. there was a whistling sound coming from the vehicle when started. the safety and check oil indicator lights came on. later, on september 27 , 2005 the dealership replaced the engine, exhaust hanger and clamps again, pedal and pedal springs and engine manifold gasket. on october 19 the left tail light was loose, and the clutch pedal went down to the floor. the traction control button and the trunk release buttons would not work. also, the power steering bracket was loose. they replaced the left tail light, clutch pedal, and the missing right muffler insulator. *ak updated11/29/05. *jb

This junk is now in the shop [dealer ] for the seventh time! this time it was taken in because the lights, and horn went on and off whenever they wanted too! i took the gto from hell to the dealer on. tues. 8/30/05, on fri. 9/2/05 i was told they needed to get parts. mon. 9/5/05 i was informed the complete wiring harness had to be replaced. this is an insane repair to a vehicle that still has only 3500 miles!!! today fri. 9/16/05 the gto from hell is still not ready! if this is the way that gmc does business then they should go bankrupt, because they have no idea of how to treat a customer who has supported them for their whole life!!! *jb

2005 pontiac gto gas pedal sensor fails. this immediately causes the car to go into safety mode/reduced performance mode. car becomes unsafe due to the gas pedal cutting out and the car can barely go. pulling out into traffic, car could suddenly lose power leaving you exposed to a possible collision. *nm

The ignition lock cylinder is bad. this is an ongoing problem with the pontiac gto's. gm needs to stand up and take responsibility to this problem. i'm being told my part wont be in into december this is unacceptable. please investigate i do believe this is a safety issue as well. thanks. *jb
