2006 gto and had engine mount problem. only had the car for two years and brought it in to be check out because it was leaking oil. come to find out with only 17,000 miles the engine mounts were cracked and blown out leaking oil everywhere. gm technician said a lot of these cars have this problem. luckily it was under warranty. but there is absolutely no reason why a new car has that serious of a problem.

2006 pontiac gto engine failure on 05/15/2007. i had already come to a stop when the motor shut off. went to take off again as traffic moved and saw engine light on. car finally restarted but had to pull over about 1/4 mile again because of the motor shaking violently. the problem was diagnosed at the dealership as a bent valve due to the valve not being seated properly at the factory. the vehicle only had about 7700 miles on it and was bought new. new head put on car and all new valves installed. if motor would have cut off merging into fast traffic where i live there could have been an accident since there was no pre-warnings that there was a problem with the motor. no smells, no check engine lights, no noises, etc before failure happened. at this point the car has been taken back to the dealership for a miss in the motor and a shredded serpentine belt that occurred within 50 miles of picking the car back up at the dealership for the head/valve replacement.
