| Odi evaluated general motors' (gm) data, conducted consumer interviews, inspected and tested my 2005-2007 gm minivans with regard to the alleged defect of a power sliding door (psd) opening while the vehicle is out of park.odi identified a high warranty claim rate.however, these claims are related to various problems associated with doors not properly opening or closing and not specifically to doors opening while driving.the condition of the psd reversing direction during the closing sequence is consistent with an obstruction of the door, or with improper alignment of the door, and this is addressed in gm technical service bulletin # 07-08-64-007 and bulletins # 07-08-64-007a through d.odi's evaluation of the psd system notes numerous safeguards to preclude both unintentional and intentional power opening of the psd while the vehicle is in motion.a safety-defect trend has not been identified at this time.accordingly, this investigation is closed.[see document file for additional information regarding this resume.] | ||||||

| I have a handicap accessible van made by m.c. mobility and gm. my automatic sliding door opens itself and executes the ramp at different times. once i was at the drive thru and put my car in park and it opened the door and executed the ramp. other times it has opened and closed by itself. one time during an outdoor event some folks watched my car for entertainment for 4 hours and during that time period it opened and closed itself 14 times. we have had the door worked on many times and it is well documented and i would be happy to share the documentation. the wheels on my door have been changed several times i have replaced my car battery and the batteries of both key fobs. right now it has been working correctly for about 60 days | |||

| My 3 year old son pushed the button to close the automatic sliding side door and the door caught his left thumb and part of the palm. i took him to the immediate care center and he had a bone that was chipped in his thumb. they put a splint on his thumb and was going to re x-ray him in about a week. *nm | |||

| I just want to inform you that i was not notified by gm of either of the 2 recalls on my 2005 pontiac montana. the first and worst being id#: 04v597000, which i know for sure affects my vehicle. the other being id#: 05v061000, which may not affect me depending on which seats i have in the 2nd row. | |||

| The door design is poor. if one is not directly up against the door it jams and a child could get trapped. if one is in the doorway it takes a lot of force to reopen the door.*ak the consumer stated that the sliding door poses a safety hazard for small children. the consumer stated that a child could not exhert the force necessary to cause the door to reopen and could be injured while being dragged / pushed by te door until they are lodged between the door and the jam. *tc | |||
