| Dt: the contact owns a 2005 pontiac montana. the contact stated while driving the vehicle it accelerated, causing it to crash into a tree. she was driving slowly down a driveway. bystanders stated that there was a grinding noise coming from the vehicle when this was happening. the contact stated she could not control the vehicle. the vehicle was taken to a body shop, the body shop declared the vehicle was totaled. the consumer has not contacted the service dealer to determine the cause of the accelerator pedal malfunctioning. the consumer has not contacted the manufacturer.*ak | |||

| Dt: there was a problem with the cruise control. the consumer stated that the cruise control caused the vehicle to speed. the consumer was unable to stop the vehicle by applying the brake or using the cruise control switch. the consumer had to put the vehicle in neutral then hit the brake pedal. the brakes became very hot and started smoking. after a considerable amount of time the consumer was able to pull off to the side of the road. no accident resulted. when the consumer took vehicle to dealer for repairs the dealership could not find the cause of the problem. the dealer contacted the manufacturer and couldn't identify what caused the problem but suggested the dealer replace the cruise control module. the cruise control module replaced and everything seems to be working properly now. *ak *nm | |||
