Defect SummaryOn certain fifth wheel trailers equipped with hickory springs big easy triple steps, an improper engagement of the bottom step pivot arm with the formed stop edge of the middle step support bracket can result in the bottom step rotating to an unsafe downward angle.
Consequence SummaryA person could be injured should the step give way while being used to enter or exit the trailer.
Corrective SummaryDealers will inspect the trailers for the manufacturing date sticker to verify the date of production of the step and, if necessary, will weld stock to each side of the lower (triple) step stop edges. the manufacturer has not yet provided an owner notification schedule. owners may contact cedar creek, puma, or sabre at 1-574-389-4600.

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 forest river puma. the contact stated that the cold water side of the faucet in the sink and the shower turned counter-clockwise instead of clockwise. the dealer stated that the faucets were designed in that manner. the contact's son sustained a slight burn to his chest while showering. he thought he turned the cold water on; however, he actually turned it off. updated 12/12/2007 *bf
My new 2007 lark carhauler enclosed trailer came with 4 towmaster st205/75d15, dot# 1nvt-5106, kt-7709-06 tires installed. after approx. 1500 hwy miles, all the tires formed large bubbles throughout the side walls. the company ridgeline performance in douglas ga. replaced the tires in good faith with the same tire. after approx. another 1500 hwy speed miles, the tires did the same thing. this time the company refused to replace them stating i must have caused the problem. i believe this tire has serious defects that will or has caused serious accidents. the trailer is rated 7000gvw. i was hauling a 69 jaguar xke. tire pressure was 50 psi. running 70 to 75 mph, tire temp was taken with a laser reader and found to be running at 195 degrees on a 89 degree day. *tr
