Defect SummaryOn certain motor homes equipped with a two-door refrigerator manufactured by the dometic corporation, the refrigerator may have a defect in the refrigerator boiler tube. pressurized coolant solution could be released into an area where an ignition source (gas flame) is present.
Consequence SummaryRelease of coolant under certain conditions could ignite and result in a fire.
Corrective SummaryRexhall will be working with dometic in order to repair these refrigerators (please see 06e076). dometic will repair these refrigerators by installing a secondary burn housing, a thermal fuse, and a melt fuse free of charge. dometic has retained stericycle inc. to manage this campaign. stericycle will assist the owner in locating dealerships or service centers and will provide assistance with scheduling of appointments. the recall is expected to begin on or before july 4, 2008. owners may contact dometic/stericycle at 1-888-446-5157 or rexhall at 1-661-726-0565.

Defect SummaryCertain motor home chassis fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 105, hydraulic and electric brake systems. the brake system warning indicator may not function as required by standard.
Consequence SummaryIn some of the affected vehicles, the brake system warning indicator will not illuminate when the ignition is in the start position or for a low brake fluid condition, if the body builder relied solely upon ford's ivm compliance statement for the brake system warning indicator.
Corrective SummaryDealers will repair the brake warning lamp circuit. owner notification is expected to begin july 1, 2003. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact rexhall at 1-800-444-9720.

 Consumer applied brakes while driving downhill, pedal went almost to the floor, no braking action. the consumer had to downshift to slow the vehicle. dealer determined that the brake line had been pinched. *ak the consumer states that suddenly with no prior warning, the brake power had come down 6-8 percent grade narrow, on curvy mountain roads. the engine compression held the vehicle back by shifting down to first gear and tapping what little brakes were available. the concerns of the consumer were further increased when the rpm gauge registered 4-5k throughout the incident. the diagnosis was that the metal bar that goes across the unit to the generator in the rear. a square tubing welded between the frame rails above the rear end. the brake line goes up and over the rear housing. appears that the housing came down and pinched the exposed brake line. ford motor company could have authorized the nominal payment of the necessary repairs without assuming any liability for the faulty structural engineering. *scc
