Passenger side mirror came off and flew into traffic. no warning just flew off. called gm headquarters and was told to take the van to gmc service center. took it in and dealership tried to say it was because it was a 2003 model and warranty up. was also told that it was not a safety issue. i told the service guy you are trying to say that is not a danger. the car behind me swerved to keep from getting hit by the glass which is not safety glass either because it shattered when it fell off and i have several nicks in my paint from where it hit the side before it flew behind me. i asked him what if a pedestrian had been on the side of the road and the glass hit them he just shrugged his shoulders. i asked what are we to do get out and swing on this stuff to see if it is going to fly off. he tried to say that the mirror had been hit . i told him don't go there with that. the mirror has never been hit. you can see the old glue where it turned loose. there is a flaws in the stuff they are putting it on with. i have an old 88 model that i drive everywhere and have been keeping the van put up and it does not have any parts flying off of it. i think they should recall the safari and check this. that glass could have killed someone if it had hit . right after i bought the van when it only had about a 1000 miles on it i learned it came from the factory with no fluid in the differential. place where i had the oil changed caught that in time before it did any damage to the vehicle. gmc is charging alot of money but don't stand behind their products. *tr

Tl- the contact owns a bicycle rack hitched to the vehicle. the bicycle rack manufacturer was saris, model t-rax sport iv-bike (n/a). the contact requested the complaint be filed verbatim. the contact stated the product featured an opening on the arm that extends from the hitch that is meant to be a lock point, to lock the hitch to the vehicle. this lock point is in the same proximity of ninety degrees rotation point of the rack arm which raises and lowers, so that one can get into the hatch in the rear of the vehicle. the lock opening is large enough to fit adult fingers or small child hands which can lead to dismemberment, pinching or crushing of fingers or of hand. this resulted to dismemberment of two fingers, ninety percent of the way of a two year old. js
