| In september 2010 and again in july 2011, my car began having difficulty with back up lights (non existent) and break lights. the break lights would remain on when driving and would go off when the break pedal was applied. this also seemed to happen if the cruise control was engaged. other drivers flagged me down to alert me to this dangerous situation. the chimsel light in the rear window remained lit while driving and turned off if break pedal was applied. i took my car to a local gm dealer twice..it took 2 weeks each time, to locate the problem, which was eventually identified as a faulty body control module. this was a very expensive repair, that had to be completed twice. 2007 saturn auras should be recalled for this issue. i have not used my cruise control since july 2011, as i am afraid to start this whole expensive and dangerous sequence again. | |||

| My service air bag lights are on and the passenger air bag is not on when someone sits in the vehicle. also the traction light came one while i was in park and the entire light panel flickered. there have been over 20 complaints that i have read just about these problems alone. why hasn't there been a recall? about a month after i bought the car with 30000 miles on it, the service air bag light went on. dealership didn't do anything until the 3rd time i brought it in. they replaced the seat and it just started happening again. both airbags are disengaged now. how is that not an automatic recall? how does gm not fix this without charge? something needs to be done. *tr | |||

| Tl- the contact owns a 2007 saturn aura. the contact stated while driving, the brake lights came on and when she engaged the brake pedal, the brake lights shut off. the failure was diagnosed three times by a mechanic and the brake light switch was replaced; however, the failure was not corrected. the dealer stated the problem was within the brake light switch and the repair was not permanent. the brake master cylinder was also defective because the rubber around the cylinder had to be replaced when the brake fluid leaked. the vin was not available. the failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 81,000. rvk | |||

| Driving on the interstates and all of a sudden the car went from 65 to 40 almost got rear ended. the dash displayed service traction control. the cars speed dropped so fast i was almost rear ended by a semi. luckily i glanced up in time not to get rear ended. the car is now running fine. after looking through some sites it appears a lot of people have this issue and not even with high miles some had it with 3600 miles on there car. also the ones that did seek service they were unable to determine the issue and kept reoccuring. | |||

| I left my lights on accidentally over night, killing the battery. after jumping the battery with standard cables, done by a mechanic friend, many of my electrical features are out of service mainly the radio/cd player is powerless. i took the car to the lakeland saturn dealership only to be told that they could find no problems with the electrical components and that i must have fried the radio itself, and that i would have to replace it. i have never heard of such a thing and am wondering if this particular model has a design flaw. *tr | |||

| I have had a number of issues with my 2007 saturn aura. i have had my dash go out for no apparent reason saturn couldn't find out why it just started working again. i estimating around 13,000 miles i had to have my thermostat replaced. the car went dead and wouldn't start had to be towed saturn said the battery wouldn't hold a charge. my biggest complaint is the heated seats. while on my way from work at 11pm on a 4 lane highway dec 9 2007 the driver side seat caught fire burned a hole all the way through the seat a little bit bigger than a quarter. while trying to exit the highway i was unable to sit in the seat. while i was able to safely stop the vehicle i did panic my rear was burned but thank god traffic was light. when i turn the heater off and the car a police officer was on the scene and checked the car over before the fire truck arrived. he stated to the onstar help that the fire did burn from the inside out it did smell like electrical and that it appeared to have suffocated out after the heater was turned off. saturn could only tell me that the seat would be replaced and that engineers would be called. i thank god this wasn't worse but i was left very traumatized and tried to speak to the owner of the dealership but he did not return my call. my saturn experience is really taking a downward dive. *tr | |||

| Incompatibility of on-board garage opener system with my garage door, resulting in being asked to buy a $38.00 converter kit from lear. later, through the intervention of a friend who is a gm plant manager, he was able to get my $38.00 credited to my card. it is unfortunate that it took his intervention to get this problem solved. the dealer had no fix (not even an explanation) for why the in-car unit wouldn't work, but instead referred me to a lear 800 number, where i bought the converter unit. perhaps gm can announce that they will provide the converter unit at no cost to the consumer if they experience the same incompatibility problem. *tr | |||
