| Started driving my 2007 saturn ion from tampa to orlando. when i notice a vibration through out the vehicle. it gradually grew worse so i pulled over. at which time something flew out from under my car. coming to a stop, i checked the car out and saw nothing wrong. i started driving, in hopes to make it to the next exit, but it didn't. the vibration got ridiculous and i pulled over to find my front driver side tire flat. upon removing the tire, discovered a large piece of threading was missing along with other damage to the inside of the tire. which is why i did not see it the first time i pulled over. tire is the good year assurance | |||

| I have had 4 tire failures on my 1997 saturn ion. all tires were goodyear assurance 195/60/r15 tires. in ones instance, a tread separation occurred. in two instances, bubbles developed on the inside sidewall of a front tire. the fourth instance also had sidewall damage, but whether there was a bubble first is not know. this happened on 1/22/2010, 11/5/2008. 1/26/2009 and 7/16/2009, at 26,000, 29,000, 34,000 and 40,000 miles. *tr | |||

| In two separate incidents we were driving at speeds of, 65, and 55 mph respectively when we heard a loud thumping noise. the first time on the front passenger's side tire as soon as we pulled over it blew out. the second time on the front driver's side tire when we felt around on the inside of the tire we could feel a knot on the sidewall, where it was about to fail just like the first.*ak | |||

| Goodyear assurance tire treads separated on 2007 saturn ion. *nj while driving, the vehicle began to handle improperly. a few seconds later, the consumer felt something quickly whip around the front driver's side tire. the tire was not flat and there was no obvious damage that could be seen. when the consumer reached his destination, he discovered an 18 inch long and 2 inch long wide portion of tire tread was missing. the consumer was informed the tire was defective. *jb | |||
