| 1999 chevrolet suburban 1500 ls. purchased used in 2003. interior dome lights come on at random. have to continually use the dome override button to keep the lights from coming on at all. this means that i don't have interior dome lights when doors are open. *jb | |||

| At slow speed and at normal highway speed, my brakes do not work. i did not have any indication that my brakes were failing-ex. squeaking, scraping.. the brakes went all the way to the floor. pumping the brakes made it worse. my vehicle now sits in the driveway-undriveable due to the brake malfunction. i received an e-mail from channel 10 news that listed 1999 suburbans were recalled in canada only. my vehicle was transported from texas and then i purchased it from the dealer. i am not sure were the suburban originated. | |||

| 430 am last year alarm going off i got up to see my suv on fire comeing out windo in side on fire put it out with my hose and couldnt belive it for on reson that could see my suv that i selt own13,000 on is all brun up so call gmc to what is going on with this i see on reson for suv or any car brest in to flames? and on help from them at all they just wanted crover thire butts (my loan (compy) just wanted thire payment i just wanted my suv!!!! no one wanted to help us i have a family of 6 and the only on that is working and i need on how is this on me now thire trying to repo my suv after alomost 2years and its on my trw why when this was on a recall ?? | |||

| Less than a year ago, my ses light came on. it indicated a need to replace o2 sensor. replaced o2 sensor bank 1. within a couple of weeks, ses came on again. p0430. replaced o2 sensor bank 2. ses light came back on and replaced catalytic converter. ses light continues to come back on. about 2 months ago, started getting additional code and hesitation on starting from a stop and shifting in high gears. ses code indicated master airflow sensor. had that changed. day later, ses came on. next day after that repeated symptoms. ses indicated mas and cam position. mas and cam position sensor replaced. problem happened again with same codes. mechanic traced to a blown fuse under hood. no light for approx. 1 week. light came on. two days later same symptoms. mechanic started with fuse this time. it was blown again. mechanic traced wire from this fuse to all parts it controls and found no short or exposed wire. (this last mechanic visit was 10/14/05). fixed problem for approx 1.5 weeks. light is back on, but no hesitation. fuse is still intact. have spent lot of $$ and still do not know root cause of problem. have seen similar issues in suburban forums from other owners who have replaced part after part as i have and still having issues. leads me to believe there is a defect here. hesitation, when occurs, has almost cause an accident. is dangerous to pull across traffic when it is happening. *nm | |||

| We had brought our 1999 suburban for a brake problem. the mechanic assured us there was not a problem with the brakes, he went on to say, he also owned a 1999 suburban and the brakes do not stop as well as other trucks. he also said they changed the brakes the next year (2000) 3 weeks later my son was driving at about 25 miles per hour, and the person in front of him slammed on his brakes - he couldn't stop, and he was driving a decent distance away - the suburban rolled over and was totaled. this is very dangerous, and i am sure that other suburbans have had similar accidents. gmc should recall this problem, so it saves people. | |||

| 1999 chevrolet suburban anti-lock brakes are not working correctly. when going slowly and you think the vehicle is about ready to stop, the brakes seem to let loose and you don't stop. this caused our vehicle to crash into and damage our garage door. | |||

| Upon inspection by mechanic the consumer was showed the continuous line of cracks on the sidewall that apperared to show the beginning stages of tread separation from the steel band, consumer replaced all four tires and request reimbursement(firestone steeltex radial at lt245/75r16 dot vn11bab). nlm | |||

| I was driving my just purchased 1999 gmc suburban home to indiana from arizona. it had firestone lt26575r16 tires on it. the tread separated on the two front tires. first the drivers side completely separated and flew off and hit my side mirror and knocked it off the side of the truck. 8 hours later i started to feel the same vibration i did right before the last one, so i pulled over and the front passenger tire was bulging and there was a crack right were the tread was ready to separate. i immediately put my last spare on and drove to a tire center to have all four tires changed. i kept the two tires that separated. *nlm | |||
