Bike shifts hard into 2nd gear. once in gear the bike surges and bucks like the transmission is slipping. sometimes it slips out of gear into neural. mostly it stays in gear but bucks so bad i get wheel spin. once in 3rd gear the problem stops. i have seen hundreds of online posts detailing the problem but i've never seen a solution in how to fix it. *tr

I purchased the suzuki m109r brand new, within 2 months i begin having problems with the 2nd gear slipping out. i took the bike to dealership immediately, with no positive results. in 2006 they claimed that these problems were not apparent to suzuki. i recently found pass invoices from dealership that explained that there had not been any defects or complaints referring the transmission in 2006. i was offered a one time goodwill service due to the fact that the bike was brand new. i got my bike back and within 8 months the 2nd gear started slipping out of gear, so i skipped 2nd gear and went straight to 3rd. as of 2009 the bike has been sitting with a transmission that is defected and badly in need of repair. this bike is a very powerful bike and i feel the transmission was not made efficient enough for the power that this engine carries. i deeply enjoyed the bike, i just want my bike fixed. i am in the process of looking for a transmission, but the nhtsa needs to be aware and i believe odi needs to open an investigation in regards to this motorcycle and model because this is a hazard and very dangerous to the driver and public.

I own a 2006 suzuki m109 the bike will kick it self out of second gear and into neutral this causes you to loose power to the rear will you are unable to accelerate i was almost rearended... i could have been killed suzuki say this is not a common problem... the m109riders.com tells a different story there are forums there that explain the problem... suzuki needs tobe held responsible.

POWER TRAIN - CLUTCH ASSEMBLY - PEDAL/LINKAGE

There were no events leading to the failure. this is the 2nd such failure i have experienced. when approaching a stoplight in heavy traffic i was downshifting the motorcycle using the engine to decelerate. the clutch cable snapped without warning with the motorcycle still in gear. i was able to lock us the brakes and kill the motor before running into the back of a car. this is the 2nd clutch cable on this motorcycle that has failed in less than 2 years. after the first occurrence i just thought maybe i had a bad part. i replaced it and didn't think anything more about it. this time i was a little more concerned. upon close inspection of the clutch lever where the cable is inserted i noticed a burr in the casting that may be causing this problem and causing the cable to wear. i feel this is a very dangerous situation and needs investigation by suzuki immediately. this is a very heavy and powerful motorcycle and loss of control would pose a very serious hazard to other vehicles and the rider. *tr
POWER TRAIN - MANUAL TRANSMISSION

I ride a 2006 suzuki m109r 1800cc motorcycle and two days ago the transmission slipped out of gear. it has slipped out of every gear except fifth when applying medium amount of throttle. it happened when accelerating away from a stoplight. i was behind other vehicles so i was not racing the engine when shifting. i had to negotiate my bike to the side of the road out of traffic from the fast lane in neutral. with the drivers nowadays tailgating you to get to the latest new store opening having a motorcycle completely slip out of gear while every other vehicle around you is accelerating is dangerous. i had three cars nearly sideswipe me while coasting to the side of the road. scary. you bet. i think with less than 4100 miles suzuki needs to rethink their quality issues with m109r transmissions before someone gets killed or seriously injured. i am sure a recall would be cheaper than litigation for a death.

I recently bought a 2006 suzuki m 109r motorcycle. the bike wpuld jump out of second gear when you were going down the street. you would end up with no power. the dealer repaired the transmission but he put in the same parts that was in the bike before. the bike only had 8,800 miles on it. i have bee told the same thing will happen again because suzuki has not up graded the transmission parts. this would happen when you try to go into second gear.

My motorcycle regularly will not move from a stopped position (in traffic, e.g. lefthand turn at an intersection) when i release the clutch to engage first gear. this problem started when it was 2 weeks old in 2006. the problem continues, it happens at least once a day, i ride only to work 22 miles from home. please help, somebody will get run over who is not familiar with their bike yet, as you cannot get out of the way of oncoming cars within a reasonable amount of time when it occurs. fyi - i filed a complaint in 2006 or 2007, at the time i did not include the vin. i feel very strongly about this safety issue. *tr

Since purchase my motorcycle had trouble going into 2nd gear, there was always a clunk sound now under acceleration it pops out of 2nd gear and into neutral,i called my dealer and he said i would have to replace my shift forks shift drum and 2nd gear dogs,i believe this is a defect that occurs in motorcycles with this transmission (suzuki m109r). *tr

Since purchase, the bike has had trouble going into 2nd gear. it has popped out several times and a couple of times would not go into 2nd gear at all. now, routinely, in 2nd gear the bike lurches and bucks when you give it gas to speed up. it stops when shifted into 3rd, 4th, or 5th. and also does not do this in first. i have almost wrecked this bike twice due to the violent bucking of the transmission. no work has been done yet. *tr

2006 suzuki m109r transmission keeps slipping in and out of gear while driving causing the motorcycle to lurch out of control. problem was diagnosed as 2nd,3rd4th gear was worn beyond repair. my motorcycle has only 9400 miles on it. *tr

Rear brake rotor is loose can be moved front to back. clutch chatters and lurches real hard at least once every time i ride. *tr
06/01/2008120001
When letting off the clutch in first gear from a dead stop there is a violent shudderjerking reaction made by the bike kind of like the bike is in the wrong gear when starting off. when clutch lever is pulled back in and then slowly released again all is normal. *tr
