Purchased a 2006 suzuki c90t new in may 2006. in may of 2007 while riding up a city street, motor just died in the middle of high traffic. almost was hit by several vehicles pushing the motorcycle to the side. stator unit with signal generator failed. replaced under warranty at 11,500 miles approx. september 2008 with 26,000 miles, unit failed again after 250 mile ride. failed in parking garage fortunately. had it failed coming down steep grades with a passenger the day before, serious injury or even death might have occurred. head mechanic at suzuki dealership stated that this model motorcycle is extremely prone to failure with this part. spoken with several other people who own this model motorcycle and they too have experienced the problem with the motorcycle just dying while riding on freeways and city streets. *tr

STEERING

Inferior steering head bearing issue. for a 2006 suzuki boulevard c90t (vl1500t). on deceleration between 40-35 mph, the handle bar consistently shakes violently from side to side. appears to be failure of oem ball bearings. needs new tapered roller bearings to cure this dangerous condition. this will be a significant cost to remove and repair the steering head bearings ($35 for bearings and $250 dealer labor). the dealer states as well as suzuki america, that this wobble condition is a charectoristic of the bike. i purchased this used motorcycle on 03/31/2012. the bike had 4899 miles on it at the time of purchase. the wooble was noticed almost immediately after puchase. the dearler would only agree to tighten the steering head bearings, which in turn only slightly helped the severe wobble issue. dealer advised of no cupping or wear problems with the tires.
