When i was in park i put it in reverse the car didn't recognize the car was in reverse and it had a line across it and check engine light came on. i put the car back in park and then was able to drive it, and the light went of,f but the while driving the car the line will go acrross the drive and the car will no longer accellerate, which can be dangerous on the highway. i brought it into pepboys they said a transmission code was popped up, but they reset the codes, even though i didn't tell the guy to do that. now the problem occurs but the check engine light doesn't come on. i brought it to a suzuki dealership and they said they think it is a transmission sensor, but the diagnostic check said it was fine, and they said wait until the check engine light comes back on, but the problem now occurs without the check engine light comming on. but i'm scared to drive it on the road because at anytime i could lose power and be injured in a car accident. i had it towed to a local mechanic and hope they can repair it.

Brakes would not work at all! transmission will randomly not go anywhere (sometimes it works sometimes it dosent) i had to swerve out of the way into a persons yard so avoid an accident.

One of the transmission sensors went out initially about 28000 miles on my 2007 suzuki forenza. the car went into neutral from drive on the interstate doing 60. i was almost rear-ended by a semi-truck because the vehicle slowed down with no notice. this has happened again at just under 60000 miles where i am having the issues with the sensor and not being able to drive the vehicle as it hesitates to go into drive even though it appears to be in drive according to the dash.

My transmission range sensor is malfunctioning. prior to find out that this was actually the issue i internet search numerous complaints that this part is a failing part on my type of car (2007 suzuki forenza) and it has been reported. the dealer advised that because it wasn't on the recall list the part wasn't covered(i bought part from dealer and had different mechanic do the repairs). my frustration is that complaints have been received by suzuki for this issue but it hasn't been placed on the recall list. what merits what goes on a recall list?

Transmission range sensor failure. dangerous gear change issues

My check engine light came on after i placed the car in reverse, it gave a big thunk sound. i turned the car off and restarted it. the check engine light is still on. when i went to the dealership to get a diagnosis and they said it was a transmission range sensor gone bad! $250 to replace. as you can see that there are a lot of customer complaints on the same issue but no recall. i have already had the brake light sensor replaced earlier this year and a power steering pump! not liking suzuki right now!

The power windows actuators continue to actuate on their own, sounding as though the car is locking or unlocking several times in a row while driving or parked. the lock itself doesn't move during this commotion. another issue was when i had pressed the brake, my car made a thunk and revved as though it was in neutral. when i tried to go again, the car took a few minutes to even go above second gear and the check engine light came on and stayed on. now, my car will sound as though it isn't in gear at speeds of 55-60 mph! this scares me! then the dash gear indicator flashes and can't figure out what gear its in when i'm driving, whether it's back roads or freeways. very frightening.

The transmission sensor went out on my 2007 forenza at 77000 miles. this also happened to my sisters 2006 forenza at 50000 miles. the warranty says it covers engine and transmission but when we took it to the dealer, they informed us that the transmission sensor is not covered. i have done significant research and this seems to be extremely common among suzuki cars.

I have a 2007 forenza and yesterday as i was putting the car into reverse, it made a loud clunking noise. the gear selector display on the dash seemed to go haywire displaying all the letters (d, r, n, etc) with a diagonal line through it. it then went back to normal, then the check engine light came on. this morning as i was getting ready to take the car to autozone, it did not make any noise. they hooked up the diagnostic computer and it came up with codes po700 and po705, which varies in wording but seems like it's the transmission range sensor

In august of 2011, when i would put the car into first gear, the engine light would come on and the car would not go out of first gear until i pulled over, shut the car off and started all over again. since then the engine light would stay on for a day and then nothing would be wrong. also, when i put the car into reverse the r on the display would have an diagaonal line through it and the would only go into first gear again until i shut the car off again. these incidents have happened at least once a week since. i never know when the car will do this and i am afraid that it will do this and not fix itself again and then be stuck in first gear. the deal wants to charge me $200.00 to fix this. i think it should be a recall item.

The transmission range sensor has gone out and there are several complaints or owners per the web that this has happened to in reference to the above car.

Transmission range sensor: very common problem. makes the car unsafe to drive and not covered under power train warranty. dealer knew exactly what was wrong, is a very common issue that is $400 just to replace a small electronic component

The transmission range sensor malfunctioned at 75,000 miles on my 2007 suzuki forenza. i was looking online and saw that many other people had this same problem. i dont understand why there hasn't been a recall on this. it has trouble driving after i come to a complete stop at redlights or a stop sign. its really slow taking off. twice when i switched gears from reverse to drive, it jerked really hard and thats when the check engine light came on saying it was the transmission range sensor malfunction. this is a very dangerous problem. the first time it ever did this was when i was driving in traffic in the middle of rush hour and it wouldn go. i had pulled out into traffic when it was clear to get over to the turn lane and it wouldnt go. it took forever for it to make it across the lanes and i was almost hit in the process. it was just really slow to take off when i started driving. im currently waiting for a transmission mechanic to call me back to see what can be done. i do believe there should be a recall on this problem since so many others have experienced this same problem.

When shifting my 2007 suzuki forenza into gear from park to reverse, there is a delay, then a dropping/loud knocking noise, then the car goes into gear. even though in reverse, it shows an error on the instrument panel displaying an x on the indication of what gear it is. the x also appears when in 3rd, 2nd, and 1st but not in park or drive. after the car is in gear, the vehicle runs sluggish and doesn't seem to get past the third gear. placing the vehicle in park and turning of the car and restarting and placing in drive sometimes fixes the problem. even if the problem is fixed that day, i have never gone longer than 2 days without it happen again. i have been told that is a problem is the ranger sensor, but i have not replaced them yet.

The items that are faulty on this 2007 suzuki forenza are the paint on the outside door handles, and the inside door latches. i bought this 2007 suzuki forenza car brand new and within one (1) year, i had to replace 2 of my door handle latches inside because they broke off. not long after that, my other two latches broke. in the 1st year, the paint on the door handles began to wear off. when i first had my door repaired, i was told by the suzuki repair shop representative, that the breaking latches was a common complaint with this particular model .

2007 suzuki forenza. gear shift is sticking. upon starting car, proceeding to put car in reverse, gear does not move from p. car has to be turned off, use key to press shift lock, put gear in n, start car, then move to r. has been happening more frequent. very annoying. fearful that it may stick in r or d.
