Corrective SummaryDealers will replace the original cam chain tension adjuster and upper cam chain guide no. 2 with a revised cam chain tension adjuster and upper cam chain guide no. 2. the dealer will inspect and may replace other engine components which may have been damaged because of cam chain tension adjuster failure.

Defect SummaryMotion pro is recalling 10,000 aftermarket brake levers, model no. 14-0415, sold for use on certain my 1999 through 2008 suzuki and my 1998 through 2003 yamaha motorcycles. the lobe height on some of these levers are smaller and do not properly engage the stomp lamp switch which will not deactivate when the driver releases the brake lever. the lever can be identified by the marking jy 378 at the base of the lever near the pivot bushing.
Consequence SummaryIf this occurs, the stop lamp will remain on which could possibly result in a crash.
Corrective SummaryMotion pro will notify owners and provide a free remedy. the recall began on september 11, 2008. owners may contact motion pro at 1-877-438-7831.

 Since opening this investigation to assess the safety-related performance of suzuki's remedy in recall 99v-312, odi has:contacted affected owners;discussed the remedy's performance with suzuki service depts;obtained an oe cct, an original remedy cct, and a final remedy cct;and reviewed suzuki's response to our information request.the recall was launced on may 20, 1999.shortly thereafter suzuki received reports of remedy cct failures, most involving cam chain noise.of the 141 reports involving a remedy cct failure, six involved incidents occuring in 2003, with april 28, 2003 being the most recent occurance.in calendar years 2000-2002 there were 130 reported remedy cct failures.of the 141 reports, 113 involve cam chain noise and 26 concern cam timing.the lone crash occurred on april 25, 2001.currently, no defect trend exists with the remedy ccts.

 Consumer received a recall notice regarding the cam chain tensioner. consumer took vehicle to the dealer inquiring about the recall and was informed that it may have a defective cam chain tensioner and if it fails it could cause extensive engine damage. cosnumer had to park the vehicle until parts were available. after the work was completed and some time had passed the motor began making excessive noise upon deceleration. consumer no longer has vehicle. *jg

 Had the vehicle parked for a couple of days and noticed a fuel leak. contacted local mechanic who inspected and diagnosed vehicle. contacted dealer who refused to sell the part. *ak
SUSPENSION - MULTIPLE AXLE
 Motorcycle lacks a stabilizer which caused tank slap or front wheel slider/ front end to lose weight during hard acceleration. dealer has been contacted. *ak
