Defect SummaryOn certain passenger vehicles, the brake light switch may become misadjusted if an upward/rearward force is applied to the brake pedal. if this should occur, the brake light switch will not function properly, causing the brake lights, including the high mounted stop lamp, to remain illuminated continuously without brake pedal application, with the ignition switch in the on or off position.
Consequence SummaryIf the brake lights remain on continuously while driving,a following driver may not know when your brakes have been applied, and a rear-end crash could occur without prior warning. this condition may also discharge the vehicle's battery, and, the automatic transmission torque converter clutch, cruise control and traction control system, if equipped, will become disabled.
Corrective SummaryDealers will replace the brake light switch free of charge. the recall began on march 16, 2005. owners may contact suzuki at 1-800-934-0934.

I am going to list the problems that i have with my 04 suzuki verona ex. 1. turn signals do not cancel out (usually while turning left) 2. steering wheel audio controls, volume acts like a mute, seal acts like mode, mode turns off radio and the cd player sticks. 3. heated seats turn on and off by itself. you need to push the button a few times before it will activate. 4. cruise control will disengage by itself (this is intermittent) 5. head lights burn out about every 3 - 4 months. 6. one abs sensor went out around 30k miles and the second went out about 80k miles. 7. right now i have cylinders 5 & 6 that are misfiring on the vehicle that need to be replaced. the amount to fix this problem is more then my car is worth. we are 3k miles over warranty and so far suzuki will not help. *tr

EXTERIOR LIGHTING - BRAKE LIGHTS - SWITCH

Complaint no. 1 the fuel line of my 2004 suzuki verona became disconnected, causing me to lose power while i was driving and causing fuel to spill on the roadway. the problem was allegedly fixed by franklin square suzuki. however, a few months later, the fuel line again became disconnected causing me to lose power while driving and causing fuel to be spilled on the roadway. the problem was fixed by malmstrom suzuki. complaint no. 2. the brake pedal switch has become inoperable six or seven times. when the switch becomes inoperable, the brake lights are not activated when i depress the brake pedal. in addition, the transmission lever cannot be released from park unless i use the keyhole override. the problem has been repaired each time (occasionally after a few visits), but nevertheless, has occurred way too many times, even after suzuki supposedly came up with a fix fro the problem by redesigning the brake pedal switch. the most recent date is indicated below.*jb

After fox valley suzuki reprogrammed my computer due to recall, the engine has a lifter knock, especially after going 55-65 mph on the highway. sounds like a diesel engine. took it to the dealer twice, they say that it is normal, but i know that it is not normal. also when ac is on, there is a whing noise while the car is in motion, dealer claims they cannot hear. left turn signal sticks, dealer claimed that they fixed, but sticks on during hot weather. i am afraid that the engine is going to blow, i have been driving the car on the highway back and forth to work with the lifter knock. please help! thank you. *jb
