Tl-the contact owns a 2004 suzuki verona. the vehicle hesitated to accelerate from a stop and would also surge forward before she applied the brakes. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where it was repaired. approximately 2 weeks later the failure began to recur. the vehicle was taken back to an authorized dealer where they were unable to diagnose the failure and it was not repaired. the failure continues to recur. the failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 113,000. sm.

2004 suzuki verona warranty issues. consumer had a problem with the dealership and charges for the repairs to his vehicle. *nj the consumer stated the check light had illuminated. a diagnosis determined there was a problem with the fuel sensor and egr valve. the vehicle continued to stall out in traffic sporadically and the tachometer jumped up and down. the dealership could not find any codes showing problems and the check engine light did not come on again. the consumer was also advised transmission fluid was leaking and the radiator and lines needed to be replaced. *jb

I am going to list the problems that i have with my 04 suzuki verona ex. 1. turn signals do not cancel out (usually while turning left) 2. steering wheel audio controls, volume acts like a mute, seal acts like mode, mode turns off radio and the cd player sticks. 3. heated seats turn on and off by itself. you need to push the button a few times before it will activate. 4. cruise control will disengage by itself (this is intermittent) 5. head lights burn out about every 3 - 4 months. 6. one abs sensor went out around 30k miles and the second went out about 80k miles. 7. right now i have cylinders 5 & 6 that are misfiring on the vehicle that need to be replaced. the amount to fix this problem is more then my car is worth. we are 3k miles over warranty and so far suzuki will not help. *tr

2004 suzuki verona problems with jolting after being stopped. consumer states that when the accelerator was depressed the engine would not register it right away until about 3 seconds or so then the vehicle would lurch forward. *kb the consumer also stated the check engine light would illuminate as well. while driving, suddenly the vehicle started dropping speed, the engine was running; there was simply no connection between the running engine and the gas pedal. because the consumer had the cruise control set, the gas pedal lodged into the floor board trying to maintain cruising speed. several components were replaced to try and resolve the problem such as the transmission, head gaskets, pcv, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, catalytic converter, and o2 sensor. the abs light illumined in october 2006. in march 2007 a new abs module was installed. *jb

When driving at slow speeds the engine stalls. most recently this happened during stop and go driving at about 7 mph. when accelerating out of a stop the car jerks and lunges forward. when driving at highway speeds the car runs rough. when accelerating to higher speeds the car hesitates and jerks. customer has taken car into 4 different mechanics for these problems - most recently to the dealer who was unable to duplicate the stalling. various attempts have been made to fix the rough running (spark plugs, alignment correction), but the problem persists.

I purchased my 2004 suzuki verona on jan. 30, 2007. from the second day i own it, it has made noise like it was a diesel engine. i was told that the ticking sound coming from the top end of the motor was normal, that it was the self adjusting cam gears. i could hear a rod knocking in the lower end of the motor but no one at the service department could hear it and their trained to hear these type of things. suzuki supposedly rebuilt the top end of the motor but the ticking continued. they then were supposedly to have replaced the short block ( the lower end of the motor) but the rod continues to knock to this day. the car has died at speeds between 35 mph up to 70 mph. it died one day as i was making a left hand turn and i was barely able to avoid being broad sided by an on-coming vehicle where my mother could have been injured or killed. the car also surges forward sometimes when trying to stop or sitting still. it dies sometimes at take off causing me to nearly be rear ended quit a few times. i sued suzuki for breech of warranty and even though i did not get awarded what they should have had to pay, they did pay, admitting guilt. suzuki lies about work performed, they avoid doing work that is necessary. and then they deny all previous lies that they have told. and they claim to have one of the best warranties in america. *tr

I am sending you this complaint in an attempt to inform you of suzuki motor company that is located in you state. i live in texas but have been dealing with suzuki for over a year now trying to get them to make repairs to my vehicle so that i may not end up in a serious accident caused by the suzuki verona i own. my information may not be completely accurate but what i have read does warrant an investigation on your part. the suzuki verona was a model of daewoo then suzuki bought daewoo from general motors. one of the vehicles they put out on the market was the verona, i assume without making any changes to its drivetrain. i have read that the engine designed by daewoo was not designed to be operated using any type of fuel that contains ethanol. all fuel has atleast 10% ethanol no matter where you go in america. daewoo never intended for this vehicle to be sold in america. but suzuki put it on the market in america without any concern of what the consequences might be to the public. i have read over a hundred and fifty complaints about the verona and they all complain about the same thing, the engine. the engine has died on my verona while i have been on the highway and when i have been on regular surface streets. it has surged a few times and on one occasion i struck my brother while he was attempting to open our garage door. luckily i did not hit him very hard so he was not injured, just scratches. but could you imagine if a mother goes to pick up her children and while sitting at a crosswalk near the school her engine surges and the vehicle jumps into the crosswalk and strikes children possibly killing them or crippling them for life. suzuki has gone out of its way to do everything to avoid doing the proper repairs or replacing the engine. i have been lied to by the service department manager here in ft. worth and i have been lied to by the district service rep. ( jeff marris ), about the engine. *tr

Dt: the contact stated the engine service light kept coming on the 2004 suzuki verona. oil was getting in the gas line. vehicle has been to the dealership over the past year repeatedly for the engine service light problem. the transmission was not automatically shifting. the contact said that it seemed to be connected to the engine light. as of yesterday, the speedometer was not working. the manufacturer has been called ,and they said that they would notify the dealer and try to figure out what was wrong with the vehicle. the dealership did not call the contact. the dealer said that there was nothing wrong with the car. the 02 sensor has been replaced once, and was currently waiting on another 02 sensor to be installed. the only problem was that the part has not been manufactured.*ak

As i exited a freeway, i braked to disengage the cruise control and started slowing down. the car acted as though it was auto-braking to slow down as if going down a steep hill several times very severely and came to a complete stop. it would not go forward or in reverse until i turned off the cruise control and the engine and restarted it. on two other occasions, the car would not move after stopping to enter a ferry and with my wife attempting to leave a parking lot. *jb

I purchased a new 2004 suzuki verona april 2004. since then, the vehicle starts surging and lurching unexpectedly without any warning. i've taken it to the dealer for repair and they state there's nothing else they can do about it. the last time, approx 2 weeks ago, they downloaded a patch to reprogram a computer chip which did no good at all. i've complained to the dealer numerous times and brought it at least 4 times for this problem. my wife refuses to even drive this vehicle because it's an accident waiting to happen. francis g vinci, union, ohio. *nm

Vehicle stalls , shakes , and shuts down in traffic. *tc the problem was a direct cause of the engine control module. there was a recall and it was replaced. after the repairs were made the vehicle heat stopped working. it took almost a month before the heating problems was repaired because the part was on back order. the consumer feel she should not have been financially responsible for the repair of the heating system. *nm
