Tl*the contact owns a 2004 suzuki verona. while driving approximately 25 mph on normal road conditions, the vehicle began to surge forward and pulsate when the accelerator and brake pedals were depressed. also, the rpm's increased excessively. the contact observed that whenever the air conditioning unit and cruise control were activated, the failures worsened. the engine warning indicator intermittently illuminated on the instrument panel. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on four occasions. they stated that the failure was related to the throttle body and made the repair. the failure mileage was 37,989 and current mileage was 49,000.

I am going to list the problems that i have with my 04 suzuki verona ex. 1. turn signals do not cancel out (usually while turning left) 2. steering wheel audio controls, volume acts like a mute, seal acts like mode, mode turns off radio and the cd player sticks. 3. heated seats turn on and off by itself. you need to push the button a few times before it will activate. 4. cruise control will disengage by itself (this is intermittent) 5. head lights burn out about every 3 - 4 months. 6. one abs sensor went out around 30k miles and the second went out about 80k miles. 7. right now i have cylinders 5 & 6 that are misfiring on the vehicle that need to be replaced. the amount to fix this problem is more then my car is worth. we are 3k miles over warranty and so far suzuki will not help. *tr

I am the owner of a 2004 suzuki verona. within 2 weeks of purchase this car has been in the shop up to at least 20 times. check engine light goes on and off every other day or so. that really did not bother me so much. last winter the car decided to not accept fuel. they fixed the problem after about 2 weeks. for the last 4 or more months this car stalls, it surges, it accelerates above 3000 rpm at stop lights, it almost or does die at intersections, it just decides to not go 60 and slows you down to 40 like the brakes have come on. i carry around my 4 year old everyday in this car i work 60 miles from my home. everyday i do not know what this car will do and it scares me that my son and i will be in an accident or how will it be like on ice and snow this winter. this car takes a big chunk of my paycheck and i feel it would be better if i didn't drive this car. suzuki this car is a joke never again would i ever buy another suzuki anything. i believe this calls for some action on all these people in this situation. make it right suzuki. *jb

Dt: the contact owned a 2004 suzuki verona. there has been an ongoing surging problem since last fall. dealer said this was normal. the dealer admitted that it wasn't normal. on july 5, 2005 , she took vehicle to dealer, and they ran a test on it . said it needed a throttle body which they ordered. they said she could bring it in on monday 7-18-2005, on thursday 7-14-2005 it died on the freeway. after waiting about 1 minute, it restarted and died again. she was pulling into driveway. she called the dealer , and said she would like to bring it in on july 15 instead of july 25. it is at the dealer at present. dealer has talked to the manufacturer. *ak *jb

I bought a 2004 suzuki verona 4 door sedan, in october 2003. since then i have taken it to the dealership numerous times, they keep sending me away without fixing it, they say when the car stalls thats the way it was designed. and all the cars i have owned in the past i've never heard of them being designed to stall!! it does not accelerate properly, the car stalls miss fires when cold, it doesn't shift right, the service person said that it was my driving (bull)! the mechanic supposed to fix the clock three times and still doesn't work, the heated seats don't work properly, the cigerette liter doesn't work, they said it was the fuse but the fuses are good. i am extremely unhappy with the proformance of this car, they have told me that nobody else has had any complaints, that mine is the first.there needs to be something done before somebody gets hurt or even killed, especially today when i tried to pull out into traffic and it didn't wont to accelerate it started to go and it wouldn't move, after i proceeded to go it wouldn't do nothing almost causing me to get hit by an on coming car, that wouldn't slow down!!! disgusted in south carolina!!! i would not reccomend a suzuki to anyone, they are all junk. *la pe04062_cat

My verona had a problem of feeling like it wasn't shifting right. the first time i was going about 40-50 mph and it felt like the brake was on or in first gear. the second time 30-40 mph the same thing. then the service engine soon light came on. i took it to the dealer and they said i'm not pointing any fingers but it shows that the throttle and the brake was on at the same time. which i took to mean i was driving with my brake on while accelerating. this was not the case. told him that if i pulled over and shut the car off and then restarted it that the problem went away. their answer to drive it in (30 miles) when the car was having that problem.*ak

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL - CRUISE CONTROL
04/17/2006110004/14/2004
I have a 2004 suzuki verona lx that from the day i bought it the cruise control wanders or surges. it is getting worse with age. it will very as much as 10 mph back and forth, back and forth until you turn it off. i have had several close calls at being rear ended when it slows down suddenly. i have had it to 4 different dealers and they all tell me the same thing. this is the way it is supposed to work. they tell me it was fixed in the 2005 & 2006 models. then why can't they retrofit the 2004's. this is a terrible safety hazard that is getting worse as the vehicle gets older. it has 20000 miles on it now, what will happen when it has 50000? quit running totally!!! *jb
