My 2007 suzuki boulevard m109r has developed a loose rear brake rotor. this is a two piece rotor design that has a series of rivets connecting the inner rotor hub to the outer rotor braking surface. the rotor not only allows excessive lateral movement (along the axis of rotation), but also allows for rotational movement (about the axis of rotation) of approximately .050 inch. *tr

Rear brake rotor is a two part semi-floating disc brake rotor. outer ring of rear brake rotor, where brake pads engage on the disc, has become progressively loose from the carrier unit over time. during the 7500 mile service the technician instructed me to warranty claim the rotor for replacement. dealer has ordered part and told me that it would be covered under warranty. please note that the replacement rotor is a different part number than what is on bike as delivered from the dealer for this model year. is this because the manufacturer has noted some issues that are unknown to most owners of this model motorcycle? *tr

Defective rear floating rotor on 2007 suzuki m109r. press fittings that hold the 2-piece rotor together let go and cause orbital play in rotor contact, increasing brake distance, noise when braking and slippage under hard braking. *tr

In may of '08 i brought the motorcycle to pick up oil for the 6000 km oil change. i informed the dealer that the rear disk was loose. did not have it replaced at this time because the movement was marginal. the dealer stated that if it got any worse we should look into it. checked the brake yesterday and realized that there is more movement forward and backward as well as side to side and up and down. suzuki has a new rotor that has a part number superseding the originally installed part number on the bike. this would either indicate that there was a problem which has not yet been addressed with the consumer or the problem is rare enough that there is no need. the dealer and i have contacted suzuki to place a warranty claim to have the rear brake rotor replaced. the rotor makes a piercing noise when the pedal is applied and has some vibration (possibly the cause of the noise). this is quite embarrassing. let's hope they replace the rotor. *tr

Rear rotor on my 2007 suzuki m109 became loose after 430 miles. this was under very easy driving conditions because was still breaking in the motor never got over 3500 rpm in these miles. currently waiting for suzuki to get new part in to repair defective part. suzuki has a new part old part discontinued? should this be a recall issue? *tr
