 Tl- the contact owns a 1996 toyota avalon. the contact was involved in a crash. the vehicle was destroyed. the vehicle had to be cut in order to remove the contact and he was taken to the hospital via ambulance. the contact sustained a fractured hip. while attempting to accelerate forward, the contact stated that the accelerator pedal remained stuck to the floor and caused him to crash into a building. both the dealer and manufacturer had not been notified. the failure mileages were 226,444. a police report was available. the vin was unavailable. bw

 Tl* the contact owns a 1996 toyota avalon. while attempting to park, the vehicle shifted into reverse without intention. the vehicle then accelerated backwards 50 ft and killed a person. an occupant in the vehicle was also injured. even after repeated brake application, the vehicle would not stop. the police were still investigating the incident, because they have speculated that it could be a mechanical failure. the vehicle was completely destroyed, but has not been released to the insurance company. the failure mileage was 68,047. updated 02/19/10 *bf

 Consumer states while driving 30 mph and without warning there has been sudden acceleration resulting in the rpm increasing without acceleration causing the transmission to make a loud noise, dealer was notified but was unable to duplicate the problem.*jb

 While bringing the car to a stop the car suddenly accelerated, and car jumped the wall and hit a buliding. then the engine slowed downed, and consumer proceded to park. consumer felt this car could have hit someone if they were crossing. *ak
