| Tl -the contact owns a 2007 toyota avalon. the contact started the ignition, and there were several attempts before the gear selector would shift into the drive position. the shifting failure occurred intermittently. in addition, the rear brake lights failed to illuminate. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the technician informed that the failure was contributed to the brake safety switch which was a common problem. the part was unavailable for the repair for a period of two weeks.the vehicle was repaired for the malfunction after the part became available. the failure mileage was approximately 40,300. js | |||

| 100% of night time driving especially on country roads that are hilly we lose effective headlight performance (when going up a hill the headlights only project about 40 to 50 feet). this problem seems to be typical of the avalon limited from others having the same problem. we are scared to drive the car at night since going 55 mph we are covering 80 plus feet per second. *jb | |||
