| Driving down the highway at 60mph the car just accelerated and went to speeds over 100 mph. when the driver realized the car was accelerating more than he was doing he released the gas pedal and the car just continued to go faster. there are no floor mats in the car to get stuck and the gas pedal was not depressed the car just continued to accelerate. *tr | |||

| 1999 toyota corolla. 1. i have experienced sudden acceleration in my 1999 toyota corolla. even hitting the breaks would not stop the acceleration. this would go on for 1-2 seconds. 2. usually occurred when i was driving 60-65 mph, after hitting the gas continuously for sometime without hitting the break. 3. it happened too infrequently. my husband, who also drove this car, did not experience this. *tr | |||

| In 2004 during the winter my 1999 toyota corolla le accelerator extremely fast as if the accelerator was floored. i immediately put the car in neutral and coasted to the side of the road where i put the car in park and shut the engine off. i checked the floor mats as my first troubleshooting attempt. the floor mats were ok. i started my car again and again it accelerated at a high speed. at that point i was still on the side on the road and my car was in park. i pumped the accelerator several time and finally the car idle at a normal speed. it has not happen since that day. *tr | |||

| 1999 toyota corolla accelerator stuck and could not be stopped even when applying brake. driver did not know to place gear in neutral. crashed into rear of pickup at approximately 30 mph triggering both air bags. car was totaled and driver suffered minor injuries. driver female, age 85 was taken to hospital for evaluation. no sign of mini-stroke. at that time floor mats were suspect. floor mat was in proper place. however, driver suspects stuck accelerator. according to insurance company, car has been sold for parts and not available for inspection. accelerator had not stuck prior to this event. *tr | |||

| On two incidents cruise control activated on its own, consumer applied brakes, but it would not override. also, attempted to shift gears, but it did not work. consumer could hear motor , it sounded as though it was fighting itself . vehicle finally stopped when consumer turned off the vehicle. dealer thought on the first incident that it was driver's error, and could not find any defect.*ak | |||

| While driving 10 mph and making a turn, the vehicle suddenly accelerated up 25-30 mph and hit a tree. upon frontal impact, driver's and passenger's airbags did not deploy which did not protect the occupant. prevouisly had electrical problemswhich caused the door locks/ windows and the radio to become inoperative. please provide further information and vin#. *ak | |||

| My car is automatic. sometimes when i am driving it revs really high like over 4. and thats only when i am going 30mph. even if i put overdrive on it still doesnt work. also my low gas light indicator fades in and out. its doesnt come on until the car is past the e . and the last problem is my locks. when i am driving i lock my doors. and then when i turn off my car, take my keys out, it wont let my unlock my door. i have automatic doors and it shouldnt be doing this. one last comment is that these problems do not happen on all the time. but at least once a week. i have brought it in to the toyota dealer many times and they say there is nothing wrong. i know there is. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you. | |||
