On a rainy october 28, 2012 sunday, i was traveling on rte. 73, in moorsetown, nj and i attemped to get off 73 and go down the rte. 295 n ramp. as i went down the ramp, i put on my brakes to slow down and all of a sudden it felt like my car was flying. the brakes locked up, the car spun around and crashed into the curb so hard on the drivers side, that it totaled the back and front rims of my tires. then once i thanked god for not letting there be any cars around me and letting me be alright, then i attempted to move the car. i backed the car up a little bit then pressed down on brake to change gear into drive and turned steering wheel away from curb, and my car flew to the other side of the ramp and crashed into the curb on the passengers side of which damaged the front rim on that side and through all of this the air bag never ejected. i could kind of understand that it was wet and the car hyroplained before first crash. but i don't understand how before the car took off the second time while i had my foot on the brake and barely moving, brakes were completely locked up. at this point i was scared to move the car again, so i just cut the car off and sat there for a while, then turned it back on, then it felt like brakes were alright when i pressed down on it. i took my car back to the dealer i bought it from and asked them to check the brakes and of course they said that it was nothing wrong with them. at this point and time, i do not trust this car, but i do trust god to keep me safe in this car or else i wouldn't even drive it after that episode. i needed to get 3 new rims, 1 tire, a hub cap and wheel alignment for my car and i just thank god that there was no other damges. and now i'm just waiting on the lord to give me the opportunity to get a suv and it won't be a toyota.

Check engine light came on 11/14/10 and car started slam shifting, and died on freeway. the car started again, and i took it to xx in moreno valley next day. dealer said faulty ecu (dtc p2716) and the part must be ordered. i asked if they could provide a loaner car because i don't feel safe driving the car with a faulty ecm. i was told part will most likely be in tuesday or wednesday. the dealer said a loaner car would not be provided unless the car totally stop operating. i live in san bernardino and work in moreno valley, approx 26 miles one way. i have aaa towing basic for 6 miles. i would usually purchase aaa southern ca automobile club towing for up to 100 miles, but because i bought a new reliable toyota, i just got the basic towing in case the battery died. i don't have towing to get the car to moreno valley in case it completely stops running. i'm worried about safety and logistics! i don't trust this toyota corolla. dealer will not keep the car and give me a loaner until the part arrives. will toyota be responsible if this car stalls again in traffic and causes an accident? will toyota be responsible if this car needs to be towed to the dealer? will toyota be responsible if the transmission becomes damaged from the hard shifting? will toyota be responsible if the car catches fire from faulty electrical wiring? this corolla has had brake and steering problems. brake fluid always low, although brakes verified as repaired and okay by technician. the wheel bearing on the front driver's side wheel is going bad and the tire will not hold air. the tire has been examined and is good. i smell electrical burning once in awhile. the belt tensioner pully bearing bad. occasionally, smell antifreeze, which indicates a leaking head gasket. wind noise, windows creak when moved up/down. the locks squeak. the interior rattles. the paint job is runny, weld points are sloppy. car stalling, slam shifting, then cutting off. the car has a little over 50,000 miles.

My abs brakes *toyota corolla 2007) stop braking when going over uneven road or wet roads. it has been like this since i bought it in december 2006. it occurs every time in described situations. nothing has yet been done to repair situation. was told by dealer that it was normal... *tr

My brakes momentarily fail at times when i pass over uneven surfaces on the road. it occurs a few times every week (i commute about 20 miles everyday). i live in chicago, and this brake failure occurs in nice weather as well as during snowy or rainy conditions. i have had my tires checked, and they are not the problem. the brake failure began to occur when the car was new. my tire pressure light comes on all the time for no reason. my mechanic has a toyota corolla too and he told me his goes on all the time as well. i just press the tire pressure button in the car to make it go off. *tr

Brakes failed, pedal goes to floor, attempt to press brake pedal again still results in pedal moving to floor with no braking. hit car in front. 2nd occurance. first occurance in june 2011. dealer said they could find nothing wrong. same problem occurred on 2/21/2012. brakes then work after incident. failure seems intermittent. dealer service manager says he thinks the problem could be a master cylinder. toyota investigating. so far had investigator inspect car but have not yet authorized dealer to do any repairs.

Ever since my vehicle was purchased, i would hear a squeaking/grinding noise coming from the front of the vehicle when i hit the brake pedal. the sound only existed when i put the vehicle to reverse. however, near the 20,000 miles point, the sound has become louder and exist even when driving forward and braking. i have reported this problem to three different toyota dealerships and they are unable to repair it. the problem occurs when i need to stop the vehicle and push on the brake pedal. there would be a loud grinding noise and sometimes the brake pedal would also vibrate. the toyota dealerships have changed my brake pads and performed several inspections. however, it did not solve the problem. now they are refusing to do anything and claims that the problem is normal (at nearly 60,000 miles). i feel that there is something really wrong and unsafe about the situation. what if the brakes fail at any moment? what steps shoud i take? even toyota customer experience service is telling me that the dealer diagnostic says it is a normal condition.

Safety issue i have 2007 ( new from the dealer) corolla has only 46k mile, i replaced the break at 31k at the end of 2009 when the dealer confirm that the break pat need to be replaced and i was surprised to hear that for 2 yrs old car with only 31k. i did replace the break pat to protect the car yesterday the car has gridding noise, and i took the car to the dealer and he told me that the left pat only is completely gone, i was surprise, because it is only 15k since last time he replaced the break pat, he told me that the caliper stuck and cause this problem because the moisture get inside the break disc and freeze the disk and froze the calipers and cause this the car has only 46k and to change the break twice there is some design and safety issue with moisture get into the caliper. it is toyota design and all corolla in the usa need to fix the moisture getting into the caliper and cause it to stuck. it is public safety i did not fix the car with the dealer because he was so ignorant and i am concern about the toyota service at this dealer and i will elevate that to higher level with district attorney because it is public safety concern for me and my family and the public

Driving on 2 lane blacktop road, dog in my path of travel, firmly applied the brakes, car was pulled to the right, went off the road and continued to travel parallel until i struck a gravel entry driveway to a field with the front of my vehicle and then flipped end over end 3 times according to witness finally resting on its top. upon looking at the scene, there was one (1)black skid mark. the highway was dry, there was a very slight incline in the road and it was a straight stretch. the weather was overcast. the insurance company would not investigate my complaint and insisted that i swerved. i called toyota and they checked the brakes on the totalled car and the headlight operation. i had called them to figure out what had gone wrong. in their report they said there was nothing wrong with the brakes or headlights. i had reported that prior to this incident that the headlights would go on for no apparent reason at the same location (an area where my cell phone coverage would go out). the accident occurred near an airport which was another area where my cell phone coverage would go out. since i had fractured my sternum and had the discolored imprint of the turn signal on my chest, i thought that the air bag should have deployed on first impact. i questioned the brakes and electronic/electrical system. their report is dated 11/11/2008 and does not indicate a file or complaint number.

On this date (nov. 19, 2009) my mother and i were on the way to work on interstate 45, it was a clear day no weather issues at all. after about 20 min into our commute we came up on an accident in the road, where a car up ahead had spent out of control, as i applied my foot to the brake the car continued to accelerate and instead of the car coming to a stop we collided with the car in front of me. now when i say the car kept going it did instead of hitting the suv once we hit him twice as if my foot wasn't to the floorboard. the entire front of my car was destroyed, the suv in front had a small dent, but thanks to the lord no one was hurt except for a large bruise on my mother and lots of hurt feelings for me. the police were called to the scene and it was when they showed up i realized that the impact was so bad that it jarred our doors shut. after the officers investigation my mother and i were let go without a ticket being that the wreck was caused by another persons fault (the spinning car up ahead). what was the most difficult for me to understand was the fact that we hit the suv in front of me twice. it wasn't like my car wasn't in good shape, a 2007 corolla with 55,000 miles, that had just got 2 new front tires and new brake pads all the way around. now i am dealing with a $8000.00 repair bill that i haven't been able to pay yet. *tr

The first time i experienced problems with my brakes occurred on april 28th, 2007. i was exiting a parking lot that had a downward slope and as i merged onto the main road, i stepped on my brakes but my car would not stop. i was forced to use the emergency brakes, but even then, the vehicle did not come to a complete stop for another 10 yards. on may 2nd, 2007, i took the vehicle to be checked at hollywood toyota in los angeles, ca. the invoice notes state that the causes for the brake problems on this particular occasion were that the

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 toyota corolla which was purchased brand new. the vehicle has goodyear integrity tires, 195/65/r15, which were the original tires. she stated that whenever she would travel on wet road conditions the vehicle would slide and the brakes would not respond. on one occasion, while exiting a highway ramp at speeds of less than 15 mph during inclement weather, the vehicle began to slide around the exit ramp. she attempted to control the vehicle, to no avail. she then proceeded to do a complete 360 degree turn and crashed into a concrete wall. there were no injuries. there was moderate damage on the front-end of the vehicle and she was able to drive the vehicle from the scene to the dealer. she was awaiting a damage estimate from the dealer. no repairs were made to date. the failure and current mileages were under 23,000. updated 4/7/2010 *cn updated 06/01/10

We have a 2007 toyota corolla ce whose brakes wore down too fast. we purchased brand new in 2007 with 58 miles on the car. at around 20,000 miles, when we pressed the brakes, there was play in the pedal and there was a pull to the right slightly. toyota, repaired the brakes since our car was under warranty. now our brakes are wearing down again and pulling to the side again. *tr

I have a 2007 toyota corolla with 55k miles that one of the rear wheels locked up an would not rotate. the car could not be moved as the passenger rear wheel became locked. after towing to the dealership, they removed the rear brake drums and cleaned dust and rust from inside the drums. luckily the rear brakes did not become stuck on a roadway where there was traffic. *tr

It was normal sunny day and smooth traffic i was driving toyota corolla(2007) on i-295 north in nj and was on leftmost lane @ around 70 mph in hamilton area near exit 65. then suddenly it went out of control spinning around on highway . it went spinning from left most lane to right shoulder spinning 2-3 times . luckily no body was injured and no other vehicle was involved but my car had to be totaled i requested car company (toyota) to properly inspect the vehicle if it had any issues with software and also brakes as there was no reason for spinning while driving around 70mph . considering the way car spun at that time it was evident locking of front wheels suddenly may be the one of the reasons . company never contacted me back again they had promised to get back to me after inspection was done by company inspector/engineer. *tr

Problem: squeezing / grinding noise in brakes which sometimes happens as one drives slowly and brakes. the problem started after i had the car for 2 and 3 quarters years. toyota technician looked at the problem 2 times and mentioned that everything is normal. after that a toyota customer service representative called me and mentioned that the brakes are fine and that a certain repair at my cost could be done. when i asked the toyota customer service representative to explain in writing what the exact problem is and how to solve it and she agreed to do so. previous communication had also be in writing. but toyota has not done so as to date. please note that the exact model is toyota runx, based on toyota corolla 4 doors. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2007 toyota corolla. the contact stated that the computer in the vehicle failed and had to be replaced. the computer is related to the gears and power windows. whenever the gears are being shifted, the vehicle would shake severely. the contact had to get new brakes and rotors installed four times since the vehicle was purchased. in addition, the vehicle received numerous alignments because the steering wheel would shake when the brakes were applied. two sensors also caused the engine to stop running. the vehicle has been taken to the dealer for repair numerous times, but the failures still persist. all of the failures began five months after the vehicle was purchased. the failure mileage was 4,000 and current mileage was 60,000.

I was driving coming from my sister in laws house at grandview, washington leaving around 7:40 am heading home to seattle going west to interstate-82 on friday, august 22, 2008 with my three kids. i was using my cruise control and stayed on the left lane for about 20 to 30 minutes. we just left yakima city and headed to the fred redmon memorial bridge at around 8:30 am going up hill, in which i saw two tractor-trailer far in advance and both were driving on the right lane. the left lane was open as i drove in to the bridge but then the other tractor-trailer made a change to go to the left lane. i was probably 50 feet away when the other tractor-trailer made the change to the left lane. i was cruising about 50 to 60 mph in which i have to put my right foot on the brake pedal. at first, i thought i step on my gas pedal because the car did not slowdown a bit. i pressed the button to turn off the cruise control and hit the foot brake again and again. i then realized that my brakes did not work. as i was getting too closed to the left lane truck, i panicked and made a change to go to right and rear-ended the volvo tractor-trailer. *tr
