I had a previous incident in july, 2010 when the gas pedal felt like it stuck and the car suddenly accelerated. i took the car in to sandy springs toyota at that time and made a complaint. on january 12, 2013, as i was pulling into my driveway, the same thing happened again and the gas pedal felt like it stuck and the car suddenly accelerated, crashing into my garage and house. the crash caused extensive damage to both the car and the house.

This car only has 65,000 miles on it and has hardly been driven given the fact that it is 4 years old. i heard a loud rattling noise and took it to a mechanic. he told me that a bolt came off the heat shield by the gas tank. i'm surprised that such a lightly driven car could already have such expensive problems. as stated here, toyota has a new design for heat shield which clearly gives problems: http://www.arfc.org/complaints/2007/toyota/corolla/10454289.aspx

Filled gas tank as usual. on leaving gas station heard clanking noise. went home and thought something was loose in my trunk. checked- nothing was. my husband went under the car and found the heat shield for the gas tank loose. the next day i brought it to my mechanic. he had to replace the gas tank hanger. the plastic where they put the bolt had split apart. the bolt was broken in half and rusted. the new gas tank hanger has a completely different design so i am sure toyota is aware of this problem and as usual is being very quiet. this was an expensive repair for me. toyota should have had a better way to secure the gas tank and heat shield.

I drive a 2007 toyota corolla s automatic. i bought it brand new & had about 72,000 miles on it at the time of the incident. i had noticed for a few weeks that my car was shifting into reverse quite roughly, delayed & jerking. i figured i would get it checked at my next oil change. while i was stopped at an intersection waiting to turn left, my car stalled. i stepped on the pedal to accelerate but it just revved my car & wouldn't go. i tried switching into reverse with the same result. then i restarted my car a couple times until it finally started moving again. i thought it was a fluke so i kept driving. unfortunately, as i drove on, the car just decelerated and stalled again. at that point, i called a tow truck. my car was taken to repair shop where the diagnostic was ecm issues & transmission failure. my mechanic called toyta to get the ecm replaced & my transmission had to be rebuilt.

2007 toyota corolla steel rim issues. i have had problems twice with the steel rims on my car and am afraid there will be more as my car ages. the rims rust. i turned a corner too sharp and barely grazed the concrete, which bent the wheel rim and caused my tire to blow out, and i had to replace that tire. now, i hit a pothole, and entire wheel rim buckled, tore my tire to bits, and it was almost impossible to find a replacement rim for my car. i could not locate one online, could not get a return phone call from sam swope's toyota dealership to try to see if the part could be ordered, but i was able to get another dealer to sell me one at a whopping $141 including tax. i was driving on city streets when i hit that pothole and was going at a slow speed. had this happened on the expressway, i'd be dead. now that i look at all of the rims on my car, every rim is bent somewhere along the edges. the metal on these rims is of the poorest quality i have ever seen. i'd expect steel to hold up better than this, and this is a potentially dangerous problem when steel rims buckle, destroy your tire and you can loose control of your car. i am also afraid that this isnt' the last of my problems with these rims. i believe this is going to happen again, and it is almost impossible to find another rim for my particular car. i am being told by every junkyard that my car is too new for them to have parts for it. the rims are also unaffordable if you can find them. not only did i have to buy the rim at a cost of $141, but i had to purchase another tire and pay for mounting and balancing. so, the cost is now over $200 to fix my just hitting a small pothole, and louisville, ky, is loaded with potholes everywhere. if these rims continue rusting, is that going to affect my braking ability too?

Driving on 2 lane blacktop road, dog in my path of travel, firmly applied the brakes, car was pulled to the right, went off the road and continued to travel parallel until i struck a gravel entry driveway to a field with the front of my vehicle and then flipped end over end 3 times according to witness finally resting on its top. upon looking at the scene, there was one (1)black skid mark. the highway was dry, there was a very slight incline in the road and it was a straight stretch. the weather was overcast. the insurance company would not investigate my complaint and insisted that i swerved. i called toyota and they checked the brakes on the totalled car and the headlight operation. i had called them to figure out what had gone wrong. in their report they said there was nothing wrong with the brakes or headlights. i had reported that prior to this incident that the headlights would go on for no apparent reason at the same location (an area where my cell phone coverage would go out). the accident occurred near an airport which was another area where my cell phone coverage would go out. since i had fractured my sternum and had the discolored imprint of the turn signal on my chest, i thought that the air bag should have deployed on first impact. i questioned the brakes and electronic/electrical system. their report is dated 11/11/2008 and does not indicate a file or complaint number.

2007 toyota corolla s smokes due to oil sludge, vehicle smokes when first starting and periodically during the day. i took vehicle to dealer and was told that the engine was sludged due to poor maintenence, it has come to my attention that there are 3245 other toyota owners who were told the same thing, how can this be true ? this clearly looks to be a defect that toyota does not want to take responsibility for, and this looks to be a dangerous situation for toyota owners. i heard of engines failing because of this issue, and report of fires and engines seizing while driving on highways, and toyota will do nothing to fix the problem. my vehicle is still under warrenty and they are not honoring that warrenty.

Stop the car while driving. big crash noise just like conflicting metals. 1/14/08 dealer changed the ecm at 13,699 miles. after then when stopped and idling in drive with brackes on the rpms drop and there is tapping noise from the pssanger front side of car. but the service always told me your car is fine. i had to do maintenance service for transmission oil change and 30,000 miles service at 26687miles.

Car failed state inspection once (emissions) because car's computer would not communicate with the testing equipment. dealer retested and got it to pass / work. two weeks later, the car, which never had any engine light indications stopped in city driving. the engine light came on and 3 seconds later the engine stopped. had to drift over to the side of the road and have car towed. engine would restart but not stay on for more than 1 minute. dealer replaced the car's computer module (ecu).

The automatic gear select cover is chrome in the s model toyota corolla and during noontime hours when the sun is high, the cover reflects the sunlight and reflects into the eyes. at 1:00pm, the sun was reflecting off of the chrome cover. as i attempted to cover it with a paper bag, my foot came off of the brake pedal and the creep of the vehicle caused a collision with the vehicle in front at a stop sign. this is the second time such an accident has occurred. the first time was also during the summer at 1:15pm 2 years ago when i attempted to cover the glare with my backpack. since that incident, i have always brought a hat that i use to cover the chrome gear select cover. on this day, however, i had forgot to bring my hat which would have prevented the glare shining directly into the eyes. the chrome gear select cover is a safety hazard that causes distractions and visibility issues.

I am writing to you because i was involved in a car accident in the first year of purchasing my car on december 25, 2007. i purchased a toyota corrola ce 2007 from denbigh toyota (newport news va) on january 25, 2007. i believe my car accelerated into an electrical pole. i was only trying to park my car. it hit so hard, that the repairs to my car were in excess of $2600, and there was damages done to the electrical pole. it was a very frightening experience. the officers that helped me from the car asked what had happen. i told him that i really didn

Valve stem fail: 12/9/08 4 new michelin weatherwise ii 80,000 mile tires purchased from sears baybrook for 2007 toyota corolla. 5/31/10 blowout on rf tire at 70mph with 20,000 miles on tires and 8/32 tread left. no damage to steel rim, full wheel cover remained in place. 6/3/10 blowout tire/rim taken to sears baybrook. sears representatives not interested in cause or resolution of problem. 6/4/10 tire/rim taken to local discount tire, personnel immediately found cause of blowout (rapid pressure loss from stem failure, cracks at base). recommended check other stems. 2 others remaining on car were also installed by sears baybrook december 2008. 6/5/10 after presenting proof of cause and arguing with sears baybrook, they agreed to replace tire with minimal charge. 6/5/10 i took replacement tire to install on my daughters corolla at school in college station, texas. asked sears college station to check other two sears installed stems for degradation citing recall information given by discount tire. sears personnel said my information was incorrect on stem recall and refused to inspect my sears installed stems. i explained history to no avail. so i left my van in college station for my daughter to use and returned with the corolla to confront sears baybrook personnel about the stems. 6/10/10 took the corolla to sears baybrook to exchange a tire for correct tread and inspect the two 12/08 installed sears stems. found one cracked and ready to fail. prior to stem replacement, i asked that the stems be saved for me after removal. the stems were subsequently lost despite the salesman and i combing thru the garbage cans. i saw a sears printout of the stem recall/failure information with pictures of a stem identical in design and cracking to the one on the blow out tire as well as just removed from the corolla. this proved that sears knew about the stem problem but failed to contact me or help when i asked. 6/12/10 researched valve stems, learned of china recall.

My 2007 corolla stalled at an intersection. i was waiting at a stop light and then all of a sudden the engine stalled and would not start again. i called a friend who helped me push my car to the side of the road. i then called aaa and they came and towed my car to a car service. this happened at 8:30pm today and so the car service was already closed and i will have to wait till friday morning to understand what caused this. it was a harrowing and terrifying experience and i feared for my safety.

I have a 2007 toyota corolla with 30k miles on it. two weeks ago my check engine light turned on and the automatic transmission began shifting roughly. after a while it would start running ok and the check engine light would go off. i took it to jiffy lube thinking that it was low on transmission fluid and it was not. this continued for two weeks and i took it to the dealership this morning. they replaced the ecm under warranty. i looked this problem up on the internet and discovered that this is widespread and very dangerous in certain instances. the web site that i visited is http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=201631&page=3. i strongly urge your organization to get on top of this before someone gets killed. toyota should have recalled these vehicles. my concern now is that how long will the new ecm last and is it safe. is the same company manufacturing the replacement ecms? i believe delco manufactured the originals. can delco be forced to close their doors for endangering the public? shame on toyota! i won't buy another one.

Car : 2007 corolla ce first incident : accelorator would get stuck and it wouldn't go down until i press the breaks really hard. it kept shaking the steering wheel. after incident i took to cabe toyota of long beach (562) 595-7411 . and cabe toyota wasted my time and kept the car for two days and said no work was done because nothing was wrong but it seemed like they did some adjustments to the car because weird noises started happening. second incident: 03/24/2010 break failure on wardlow blvd towards atlantic avenue. breaks did not want to go down. car kept going after trying to press breaks! had to shut down car by taking key out of ignition and pull emergency break. luckily no car was in front and back. sterring wheel locked. as soon as it happened i called cabe toyota and filed a complaint about it. they took the car for less then a day and told me to pick up my car. the mechanic said we had it for two days and found nothing wrong with it. and they had a meeting with the toyota and said give the car back. time of submitting car 2 pm on 03/24/2010 . time i called to ask about car around 1:30ish 03/25/2010. they only had the car for one day. and issued the car back to me. i do not know what to do. i was shaking drastically after it happened. luckily my daughter wasn't in the car. or i was not on the freeway.

I owned a toyota corolla 2007 and the engine stalled once. it happened when i was getting off a highway and the vehicle took a 180 degree turn on the ramp. thank god that there was no car behind me. i thought it did something wrong to cause the enginee to stall. this week i read the news that toyota admitted that there may be a engine defect. i hope that toyota is taking step to correct the problem.

On friday, march 12, 2010, i was driving my 2007 toyota corolla home on my lunch hour and my car stalled twice on a sharp turn. i nearly lost control on the turn because the steering became (quite unexpectedly) very difficult. at first i didn't realize the car had stalled, causing the steering problem. that was the first time the car stalled. i immediately took it to my local toyota dealership. they said it could be a computer problem, battery, alternator, etc., and they'd run diagnostics on it. after being there over four hours, all they said was that the battery was marginal but it took a charge. i asked about putting in a new battery and the service rep said he didn't want to do that. i wasn't charged for the diagnostic or battery charge. i believe, now that i've heard about the stall issue today in the news, that this problem is why i wasn't charged for the diagnostic test; however, i was not informed there have been problems with stalling.
