I heard rattling which i thought was from my trunk. after several attempts to locate the rattle, i discovered that it was my back window. there is a seal failure and you can literally lift the rear window in my 2008 toyota corolla. the toyota dealership tells me they have never seen anything like this before. the car had approximately 50,000 miles when i first noticed the problem. the dealership tells me that i shouldn't wait to get this repaired. however, the dealership also said they would repair the seal, but i have to pay for the part that goes around the rear window and that my 100,000 extended warranty will not cover this. unfortunately, that part does not go all the way around the rear window, leaves the bottom of the window exposed and thus the possibility for this to occur on all of these vehicles as well as reoccur on this one. i have taken pictures of this. i don't understand why i should pay for anything since this is not a wear and tear issue. it is defective! *tr

On january 31, 2009 at about 3:00 p.m. my car was parked in the driveway in the country - my brother, sister and i were standing 10 ft away from my car when the window exploded. the window was shattered and fell to the inside and outside of the car. no explained reason for this to happen. we were standing there doing nothing but talking and nobody else was around. there was no other damage to the car except the shattered window. from searching on the internet this unexplained window explosion has been happening to car windows. the temperature at the time was 65-68 degrees. i will pay to have the window replaced. toyota will not acknowledge this is happening to corollas. *tr
VISIBILITY - POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS

The window rollup mechanism on my 2008 toyota corolla does not have any sort of clutch, so they will cut off one's finger (or anything else!) if caught between the glass and the door frame. i almost managed to sever my finger yesterday. *tr
VISIBILITY - WINDSHIELD

My 2008 toyota has a distorted unclear and wavy windshield. it is unsafe. the selling and the servicing dealers must abide by the field service technician who said that it is not a defect because the other new cars on the lot also had wavy windshields. they showed me other cars with distorted windshields right on the lot. they said because they are all distorted, that is not a defect. i disagree. i find it difficult to see clearly out of certain parts of the windshield . it is unsafe. the windshield marking is toyota lamisafe ap tech m314 as1 dot376. toyota will not take this further once the field tech rules. *tr
