On september 26, 2007, toyota filed a defect information report and notified nhtsa that some of its model year (my) 2007 and 2008 lexus e350 and toyota camry vehicles could experience unintended and uncontrolled acceleration due to interference between the optional all weather floor mat offered on those vehicles and the vehicles' accelerator pedal.this decision was influenced by an office of defects investigation (odi) engineering analysis.this recall was designated 07e082.two years later, on october 5, 2009, toyota filed a defect information report and notified nhtsa that a number of its my 2004-2009 lexus and toyota vehicles may also experience unintended and uncontrolled acceleration due to interference between the accelerator pedal and the driver's floor mat.this recall was designated 09v388.several months later, on january 27, 2010, toyota filed an amended, or supplemental, defect information report and expanded the population of vehicles to include additional my 2008-2010 toyota and lexus vehicles.since this expansiontook place in a different calendar year, this recall was designated 10v023.separately on january 21, 2010, toyota filed a defect information report and notified nhtsa that certain toyota vehicles and certain pontiac vibe vehicles contained a safety defect in the accelerator pedal assembly that may cause the accelerator pedal to become harder to depress, slower to return, or in the worse case, mechanically stuck in a partially depressed position.nhtsa designated this recall 10v017.in total, the four recalls cover over 7.6 million toyota and lexus vehicles as well as the pontiac vibe product made by new united motor manufacturing, inc., a venture of toyota and general motors corporation.nhtsa requires additional information from toyota to more fully understand and evaluate, among other things, whether the scope of the recalls identified above (makes, models and model years) is sufficiently broad.the agency is seeking to determine whether toyota viewed the underlying defects too narrowly as interference between the accelerator pedal and the driver

This vehicle uses a drive by wire (dwb) accelerator. when you press on the gas the car lurches forward. this happened on a rental car in 2010 and still is a problem on the used toyota i purchased. when i contacted toyota they stated there was no recall information. they asked me to have the vehicle diagonized at my expense, which i refused to do. this is a problem and based on information on the net others are having the same problem. i have owned many cars and not one has had such a touchy pedal. *tr

My 2010 toyota corolla continues to have acceleration issues. now it accelerates with the cruise control on to speeds over 100/110 mph. i had to drive my car from vermont to california, and used my cruise control for the first time. the speed limit was 75 to 80 mph in areas and i set the cruise control to 72. the next thing i new, the car suddenly lurched forward on its own & went completely out of control. it went to speeds of 100- 120 mph within 1-2 minutes and i could hardly control the car. i have been in 3-4 acceleration incidents with this vehicle already and been injured (the reports i have already filed with your agency this past year). this vehicle is going to kill someone. there is an electrical or engine problem with these toyotas, no matter what the nhtsa, the feds, or toyota states. it is not the way americans are driving ! don't insult our intelligence. how many more innocent victims have to get hurt. all we are asking is for toyota to take these cars back and replace them with a safe car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is what is fair to the consumer. that is what the lemon law is for. yet why does no one listen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stopped at a red light, my 2010 toyota corolla shot up to 6000 rpm/100mph. we were able to put it in park and shut car off before it lurched forward into the car ahead. toyota has had the car since monday and is trying to find out what is wrong with the computer. a report was filed with customer experience center and a case number has been assigned to the incident.

I have 2010 toyota corolla (vin# [xxx] ) purchased on oct 31 2009 from sansoneautomall, nj. there is a problem with the steering column initially which started with some unique sound, then from feb 2010 i was seriously facing steering freeze (will get harden) only 15-20% of steering moves when in 0' speed, for this i have visited my dealer service center 3 times but there is no use. only with lot of disappointment and arguments saying what is the reason to buy a brand new car to get problems i was requesting to solve my problem. they simply said, there is nothing we can do if you have no other mean to commute its upto you and if you want you call toyota head quarters for this. i even spent lot of time in calling main toyota nr but simply i get voice message that there is huge volume of call waiting please wait. i really wonder when i/anyone buy a car from dealer and if they cannot receive me assist me properly where from i get the justice????. recently i found two more new problems they are: in a slope road car picks-up acceleration and maintains speed as if it is cruised and once i apply break after a while the speed comes to normal position other prob- fuel indicator stuck up to full level indi' even the fuel is low. with this i'm day by day getting depressed as i spent quite lot of savings (money) on the car to avoid any hassles buying a used car, but unfortunately its a disaster to me. i request to provide me needed solution to fix my depressing situation. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

My 2007 toyota corolla had a falied ecm which caused the check engine light to come and stall the engine. in addition, my vehcile had high rpm and shifting gear problems as well. the failed ecm issue was discovered by a specific code for check engine light. i called toyota and they were certainly aware of the problem however told me that they did not have enough complaints to recall the issue. i called toyota dealer and they informed since my mileage was 95,000 and the warranty would only cover up to 80,000 miles. i ended up getting the ecm replaced for about $800 at carmax which was $700 cheaper than what toyota wanted to charge. i called toyota headquarters again to complain and was left with no resolution. after my reseach online, this was a well known problem to toyota however they failed to address this issue. this issue occured to many vehicles as low as 35000 miles under warranty and still continue to occur out of warranty over 80000 miles. i feel if they had a recall on this issue, i would have never had these issues with my car being stalled and having to replace the ecm. i recently read an article in news about your involvement in regards to investigation of this issue and hope toyota can recognize to accept this failed recall. i have also found many other toyota customers who are all over the internet sharing similar feedback. http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=201631 i am hoping that your team can hold toyota accountable for this poor decision of not to recall this issue. please contact me for any follow up questions in regards to this issue at lakersingh@gmail.com thank you. jesse

My toyota corolla accellerator stuck after the dealor fix it.

I have leased a 2010 corolla in july 2010 it now has approx. 4200 miles on it i continue to have unexplained what appears to be electronic or computer software problems with the vehicle. one instance was i put the car in drive, but the car did not move, but the engine reveed when i put my foot on the gas pedal. i then put the car in neutral and back into drive and the car functioned normally. i then drove approx 6 miles round trip and returned home, put the car in park, i had my foot on the brake, and my hands were touching nothing i was reading something that i had in my hand and the high beams popped on the light illuminated on the dash, it was fairly light out so i don't imagine that is a feature, it was a bit overcast and cloudy. the odometer at some point changed from displaying miles with 10ths and only displays full number miles, i think it was after i accidently hit the alarm button on the remote key that it changed but i don't know for sure. i also believe the car's computer was not properly set upon delivery, or they put in a software upgrade when i went to the dealership. the invoice shows they did a computer reset. the recall fix has already been performed on this vehicle, and i am now unable to get a response from toyota, i have been waiting 3 days since i reported it to the dealership and i have not received a response, and today i can not get through to toyota or the dealership due to high call volume.

Toyota 2010 corolla brake system failed. the emergency brake went on , while i was driving without me doing anything. the odometer stopped working, brake, check-engine, panic mode and airbag system lights went on. the failure has occurred twice already, first starting as a brake failure, then almost leading to the accident when everything failed at once. almost got into an accident and i couldn't accelerate in the car. i took the car to the dealership and they gave me run around, they still don't know how to fix it or what's wrong with it. this car is beyond unsafe to drive, luckily it didn't lead to an accident and injuries both to me and other drivers. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 toyota corolla le. while sitting idle in the parking position, the vehicle momentarily lunged forward. while traveling at various speeds as low as 50 mph, the vehicle would veer to the right. also, the keyless remote, which also acts as a vehicle locator, would only operate intermittently. often, the vehicle locator alarm would go off on without driver input. the dealer advised changing the batteries in the keyless remote. that did not correct the failure. the dealer then attempted to reprogram the keyless alarm sensor and advised the locator could only be used for short-range locating. no further repairs were performed on the vehicle. the failure and current mileages were approximately 6,300.

I have been taking my corolla to the dealership almost every week since 01/28/2010 and every week i complained about how the car was drifting side to side and how on low windy days i have to fight the steering wheel to keep it in its lane at speeds above 65mph. and every time i take it over there they say well the car is working to factory standards and they will send me on my way. i have had my brakes bled and my car alignment done twice and the car only has 2000+ miles on it. so i took the car back to the dealership from where i bought it and they gave me this cust states vehicle is all over the road at highway speeds like the computer is driving the car on its own ~|~performed health check on all systems. no trouble codes stored. test drove vehicle on 10 mile trip and ~|~vehicle performed as designed at this time. please direct customer to toyota at 1-800-331-4331 if they have any other questions. so i took the car back and called the # to them and they said since the tech could not find the problem then there is no problem. bull. so on 03/01/2010 i took my car back in to the dealership to have someone go on a drive with me and i made sure it was a windy day so they can see how hard it is to keep the car centered in its lane. the mechanic that went with me said oh i see what you are talking about he even had a hard time keeping the car from wondering off. so he said well it could be the tires are not to the right pounds. i said nope i had the air done to factory standards of 35psi all around. so he said he will need the car for over a day and scheduled appt for me to come in i took it back on 03/03/2010 and haven't had my car back since then. they still have my car in the shop as i type. so there is definitely a problem with the car. i feel like i can hurt or even kill someone in the car because of it. i have had more problems with this car and its not even 60 days old yet. plus i already had the recall done on it too. *tr

Correction and addition to my 1st complaint. yesterday i had to drive my husband home from the hospital and unfortunately i had to get on the hwy. the car road home was more worrisome than his surgery! the eps in the 2010 corolla is just as dangerous as the other corolla i had before it. its blowing all over the road, taking me into other lanes, i almost hit other cars on the hwy, my husband got all distressed in the car and begged me to get him home so he could get out of my car which he now has dubbed a death trap. the car basically veers in and out of the lane your in. its like trying to drive in the road ruts only there wasn't any because our stretch of hwy had just been paved with black tar and all was flat and nice on the road surface but the car still took me all over and im not alone when i scream to you please im begging you to come to my house and drive my car!!!!! i can guarantee you will recall this model as well!!! this is dangerous!!! no person should have to get see to there car blowing around like a kite in the sky. im begging you please come drive my car!!! this is dangerous and i feel like im going to die in this car. *tr

While driving a 2010 toyota corolla le the steering wheel unexpectedly jerked away from my control. in addition, the power steering and braking system is making strange sounds, such as hissing, pings and cracks. i took the car to toyota dealership and mechanic stated it is probably the electrical system. he also stated that toyota will probably recall car due to complaints with powersteering. due to the above issues and recent recalls on my car, my wife and i don't feel safe and secure in car. we are scared of dying like other toyota owners have in the past. we would like a full refund of $17, 209.97 from toyota motor sales usa. *tr

Toyota corolla s 2010 [xxx] with extra stabilizer bar kit, purchased 11-30-09 with delivery in 12/09. 1) approximately 1 month after purchase ,the car starting to veer sharply right then left when driving on the highway, it was/is difficult to control requiring a tight grip on the wheel. it feels like strong winds are moving the car but winds are absent and road conditions are normal. this event comes and goes unexpectedly, generally lasts the duration of my commute once started, sometimes occurs with the tire pressure gauge but not always, sometimes occurs after rapid braking. it does not feel like an alignment or balance problem, the car darts from one end of the lane, to the median of the lane on its own. on this date 2-24-10 my local dealership filled the tires, and made a slight change to the left alignment they could not duplicate the problem and stated this could be a matter of personal preferences regarding how i felt the car drove when this occurred. the toyota manager also told me today that they understand there could be a problem but they have no direction on how to repair it. when asked then if he could guarantee my safety and that this would not occur again he stated no, but there was nothing for him to do. no injuries to date. i do not feel toyota is making reasonable efforts to quickly eliminate this problem, acknowledge a problem, and do not wish to resolve this with statements regarding my personal preference for the drive, and since this in their opinion is not reproducible for them it is not a viable problem for them to repair. 2) on approximately 2-11-10 i had to use my brakes in an emergency situation in which my brakes were temporally non-response. i had to downshift the gears, remove my foot totally from the gas pedal ,and maneuvered the car away from the other stopped car. no abs was felt, the brake pedal was depressed fully, this occurred at hwy speeds. no acknowledgement of problem or remedy proposed by toy currently. *tr
