 Tl* the contact owns a 2010 toyota corolla. while driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle stalled. the contact inspected the vehicle and noticed that the rear fuel line was fractured and leaking fuel. the contact was concerned because the fuel line was manufactured with plastic. the vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnostics where the technician stated that the fuel line would have to be replaced. the vehicle was not repaired. the vin was not available. the approximate failure mileage was 46,000.

 2010 toyota corolla first experienced problems june 2010 (car purchased march 2010) on a warm day i.e. 90 degrees the engine shut down, coasts to a stop. still able to steer to get off the road. wait 10 to 15 minutes and car will restart. the first time this occurred my son was driving the vehicle, totally shocked him. the next time i was driving on an interstate through a congested mountain pass, was fortunate that no semi trucks were directly behind me and that there was a shoulder on this stretch. took into dealer after same experience on 2 trips. they were unable to determine a problem. june 2011 drove 200 miles on the road, then drove in town same day with multiple stops. driving at approx. 35 mph, car jerked, stepped on gas with no response. able to coast to a stop at a red light. with traffic backing up behind us and car would not restart, driver behind us and my octogenarian father pushed the car around the corner to a church parking lot. called triple aaa for a tow, after waiting a half hour tried to start car. it started. called triple aaa to cancel tow. during the next 1 to 2 miles the engine shut down 3 more times and each time was able to coast out of the roadway. finally had vehicle towed to local toyota dealer. they examined vehicle next morning and i was told that there is a problem with the fuel pump on 2010 and 2011 toyota corollas in heat and at altitude. engineers are working on a new fuel pump. toyota does not know when a new pump will be available. i no longer feel safe driving the vehicle as you do not know when the engine will shut down. was told by the dealer the vehicle is safe to drive. just put on flashers and coast to side of the road. of course there may not be a place to pull over and what happens if you are in heavy traffic on the freeway with many vehicles going 70 mph. toyota knows there is a problem and they are telling customers to continue driving the vehicle. this doesn't make sense.

 I have 2010 toyota corolla (vin# [xxx] ) purchased on oct 31 2009 from sansoneautomall, nj. there is a problem with the steering column initially which started with some unique sound, then from feb 2010 i was seriously facing steering freeze (will get harden) only 15-20% of steering moves when in 0' speed, for this i have visited my dealer service center 3 times but there is no use. only with lot of disappointment and arguments saying what is the reason to buy a brand new car to get problems i was requesting to solve my problem. they simply said, there is nothing we can do if you have no other mean to commute its upto you and if you want you call toyota head quarters for this. i even spent lot of time in calling main toyota nr but simply i get voice message that there is huge volume of call waiting please wait. i really wonder when i/anyone buy a car from dealer and if they cannot receive me assist me properly where from i get the justice????. recently i found two more new problems they are: in a slope road car picks-up acceleration and maintains speed as if it is cruised and once i apply break after a while the speed comes to normal position other prob- fuel indicator stuck up to full level indi' even the fuel is low. with this i'm day by day getting depressed as i spent quite lot of savings (money) on the car to avoid any hassles buying a used car, but unfortunately its a disaster to me. i request to provide me needed solution to fix my depressing situation. information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.s.c. 552(b)(6). *tr

 I rented a toyota corolla from an interprise agency, and it is stinky inside when driving it. i had been vomiting because of the strong smell of carbon monoxide. when a blow my nose dirt come out, and the car is also liking alot of oil. this situation is a health problem. this is a toyota 2010 please take them out of the market. thank you *tr

 I have a 2010 toyota corolla that is part of the accelerator pedal reinforcement bar recall/installation. i have noticed another problem that appears to also involve the accelerator. this vehicle has a 5 speed manual transmission. the problem occurs in both 3rd and 4th gear. this problem is not consistent meaning it is not always noticed every time i drive, i would maintain that it occurs at least 50% of the time however. problem: i attempt to maintain a constant speed for instance in 3rd gear at 30 mph, the vehicle feels as if it wants to speed up, i then remove some pressure from the accelerator, the vehicle then slow by jerking, i then attempt to accelerate and the vehicle jerks again, bottom line is i can not maintain a constant speed. the road conditions do not matter, flat, hill, bumpy, smooth, wet dry, 30 mph, 31 mph, 32, mph etc. i cannot maintain a constant speed in 3rd and 4th gear. i am not sure of an approximate date, it has happened numerous times since i purchased the vehicle in august of 2009. i will just enter a random date below. *tr

 For entire time owned - there is a gap of seconds between pressing gas pedal and actual acceleration. when i press gas pedal there is a hesitation leading me to press harder. then of course the car has a sudden sprint in acceleration. this is not safe. i have had the car for 5.5 months so i am getting better at waiting instead of pressing harder. but i feel this is definitely a defect. i inquired over phone with service manager where i purchased - explanation: i am not use to a 4 cylinder, which i believed because i have never driven a 4 cylinder. but, i am beginning not to believe this excuse. *tw

 Tl*the contact owns a 2010 toyota corolla. the contact stated that the service engine light illuminated on the instrument panel. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership where the contact was informed that nothing was wrong with the vehicle. a few days later, the service engine light illuminated again so the vehicle was taken back to the dealership. the dealer stated that there was a hole in the fuel line and wires under the hood were chewed away. the current and failure mileages were unknown.

 I bought a 2010 toyota corolla s on oct. 22, 2009. at bitterroot motors in missoula, montana. the day after i bought the car i drove it to ovando, montana, north of missoula, on a tryout road trip. i noticed that it was flighty on the road and seemed to waver without reason (no wind, no semi trucks, wind shear, rain, etc). being a new car to me, i passed it off as the nature of a lighter and smaller vehicle than what i was accustomed to driving (my other vehicle is a 2004 ford f150). since that time, i have continually experienced this with no external explanation (ie: weather, road conditions, etc). this problem seems to happen at speeds of 50 mph and over and it is a consistent issue. i commute regularly between stevensville, mt., and missoula, mt., for work (28 miles one way), and i often find that the car will drift left or right when i am at a steady speed. this is in addition to the fact that my vehicle is on the list of recalls for the recent accelerator issue. i need to add here that the second day after buying the car, i was getting fuel and as i turned from the pump to re-enter the car, pop!! and the driver side window totally shattered. i immediately called the dealer at bitterroot motors and drove it to their service dept to get it fixed. they replaced the window under warranty, and told me they suspected it was a preexisting stress fracture in the glass that finally gave. i bought this car based on safety ratings, consumer reports ratings, and to get better gas mileage on my necessary trips to and from work. it isn't hard to understand the stress of this situation, not to mention economic hardship. i paid for the car outright ($18,075) and it physically sickens me to think that such serious issues exist. i haven't even owned it 5 months! at this point i am fearful of even driving the car. if the world worked in good ways, toyota would replace this vehicle completely, and preferably with something other than another toyota. *tr
