ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING

Head gasket replaced by toyota (special service campaign v06) at 109,574 miles. replacement head gasket failed suddenly at 189,000 miles, driving on level ground (40 mph), and without warning (no overheating or leaks). undrivable and had to be towed. plenty of complaints on the internet about repeated head gasket failures on these pickups (1990-95). called toyota corp, but they refuse to replace the gasket again at no cost because they claim that these vehicles were fixed with the replacement gasket. this truck does not haul or plow and has been mechanically well maintained. the head gasket replacement should not have failed. after reading many complaints about this problem on the internet, this issue most certainly needs to be investigated and recalled by toyota! *tr

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING - ENGINE - GASOLINE

I had just changed my oil in april 2, 2001 and i had driven it about 3,000 miles and i startrd to have problems with the engine. my oil pressure guage never gave me any warnings that i was low on oil. all of a sudden i was driving it to work and there was this terrible noise, i found out that there was no oil in it except for about 1/4 quart. iwas in shock because i have always took care of my cars. i have a 1982 toyota truck with 148,000 miles on it and it is still running. i feel there was a default in the mechanism somewhere. the mechanic said the oil was going thru the engine and evaporating thru the exhaust. that is why i showed no leaks in my driveway for the loss of oil. could you please help me with my situation? should i contact toyota ? thank you.*ak

Consumer had the head gasket replaced under recall, later, the engine had to be replaced due to a broken cam, the consumer feels that the head gasket could have been incorrectly replaced which caused the failure and the dealer should have covered the repairs, the timing belt was also replaced. *slc
The car overheated causing the engine to die. engine has been replaced. problem still exist. mjs
