Defect SummaryCertain all weather floor mats (awfm) specifically sold as an optional accessory for use on the 2007 and 2008 model year lexus es350 and toyota camry vehicles. the awfm includes two grommet holes and retaining hooks (clips) to secure the mat to the vehicle's carpet. if the awfm is not secured by itself or if it is placed on top of an existing carpeting floor mat, the mat could move forward during the vehicle usage and it may interfere with the accelerator pedal.
Consequence SummaryThe accelerator pedal may temporarily become stuck in a partially depressed position when returning to the idle position. if this condition occurs, it may increase the possibility of a crash.
Corrective SummaryToyota will notify owners of all 2007 and 2008 lexus es350 and toyota camry vehicles about the recall even though not all of these owners will have purchased the all weather mats. if the owner had not purchased the mats, they are not affected by the recall. this letter will advise owners when replacement mats will be available or how to return the all weather floor mat set to obtain a refund. a second letter will be sent after mats are available requesting owners to return their mats to a lexus or toyota dealer for exchange of the driver's side mat. the first letter is expected to be sent during early october 2007 and the second in late november 2007. owners can contact the lexus customer assistance center at 1-800-255-3987 or the toyota customer experience center at 1-888-270-9371.

2003 toyota 4runner has 3 faulty calipers 2 on front and one on the rear. the caliper uses a dual piston and the interior lower piston is the one that failed on both front calipers. this issue is know to thousands of toyota owners who inquire (its common knowledge among those who own them.) the fact that both failed at the same time was incredibly dangerous i live in the mountains and losing both front brakes simultaneously is cause for great concern my safety is at risk as well as the safety of my passengers and everyone else. i am not sure why it has taken soo much effort from us (the owners of said vehicles and therefor caliper) to get this looked into. the calipers are of a faulty design and will fail prematurely putting human lives at risk. what more do you need? a person to die before this becomes credited information? just check out t4r.org to find any number of identical claims.

Toyota recall on 2010 toyota highlander -accelerator pedal reinforcement bar installation. i had recently brought my toyota highlander in for the recall and servicing the accelerator pedal and found out that the installation was not corrected with the possibility of the pedal coming apart while driving and causing serious injury or harm the first time around. i now have to face the vehicle having to have to dismantle/lift the engine and or having to modify the cross threaded studs to correct the faulty accelerator pedal. thereby altering the vehicle by installing modified or new studs to the vehicle. i believe that this could be a safety hazard as to the new repairs being implemented to the accelerator pedals.

2008 toyota avalon brake override. i just had all my avalon recall fixes placed on my car, and the brake override fix does not work. i check my brake override to see how it operated before the fix, and after going to the dealership to get the repairs it still does the same thing. when the gas pedal is pressed, and speed is around 45mph step on the brakes while continuing to press on the gas, and you can hear the engine still trying to accelerate. the service advisor told me on the phone before going there that the brakes would override the gas pedal when the brake pedal is pressed. i still will not allow my pregnant wife, and 2 year old daughter ride in the car until a better fix is put into place. *tr

Floor-matte voluntary recall on toyota does not go far enough. there are more problems with the driver's side rubber matte which extend to poor design and poor workmanship which may also endanger drivers. my matte although installed (hooked on both hooks) properly with no other mats underneath did come apart while driving. it started tearing in a strip-like fashion along the mold-lines of the rubber. this strip had i not noticed could have torn loose or rolled under my foot or the accelerator or braking pedals. upon presenting this flaw to toyota, they said that it is not their problem and refused to take the floormat back, likening the problem to acceptable wear but i must disagree because the mat are only as old as the car (2007). 2 years for a durable rubber floor matte to come apart in pieces is hardly normal wear. *tr

On march 1 at 5:15pm i was on i-295 headed home and my 2009 toyota camry le accelerated after i had all three recalls done at the toyota of waldorf. as i was coming up to a s500 mercedes i attempted to slow my car down once i pressed the brake, i felt the car switched to a higher gear, i continues to press the brake as hard as i could, finally i pulled off the road to the left into the grass where i then threw it in neutral until it slowed down. i then cut it off and called toyota to complain. the service manager asked would i like it towed and i replied what do you think? i explained to her that i had all the recalled done on my car and i don't understand how this happened. after they towed my car the next morning i called to complain to the gm they then transfer me over to another service manager after i waited for the gm for several minutes. this service manager tells me they are trying to figure out what's wrong and offered me a rental car. i went to pick up the rental and i realized after i got home that there were several different models not just mine that were involved in this recall so i decided to look up this 2010 tacoma that they gave me and sure enough it was on the list. i decided to park this car and ride to the metro which drops me off half of a mile from my job. i would rather take this hassle than to drive any of these recall vehicles from toyota. i have a family that i have to protect and if this is how the toyota family care for its customers then i choose to not deal with this family in the future. i am requesting from toyota that they put me in a car of equal value even if its used and one that is not on the recall list. to all that have a recall model from toyota i recommend that you be very cautious of the repairs done and drive even safer than before. i have been on the phone twice today with the corporate office attempting to speak with someone and both times i was placed on hold for 30 minutes and still couldn't reach anyone. *tr

I own a 92 toyota corolla. on thursday 31 december 2009 my engine caught fire. there was a defect in the starter on my car and when i went to turn the ignition to turn on my car i immediately smelled the heat and saw smoke under the hood. i got out of the car and opened the hood and witnessed that the engine was on fire. i put out the fire. it was later determined that the starter overheated and that

2007 runaway toyota problem-dot has put out a recall notice on my 2007 toyota camry le indicating that toyota's remedy of removing the drivers side floor mat does not resolve the problem and that there is an unindentified safety deficiency. since the problem in all probability relates to a computer chip governing the accelerator or the functioning of the accelerator pedal, permitting millions of toyotas to operates with a hidden safety hazard is inappropriate. toyota should be required in a very short finite time period to resolve the problem or recall the cars and reimburse owners. defective cars that can cause deaths should not be permitted to roam the highways. *tr

Toyota ref #200711200190 (customer satisfaction reference #) my husband mini van sliding door cable shoot a very hard piece of plastic out and the cable dislodged from its hinge. luckily that we did not have any one sitting in the path of the hard plastic which has a lot of sharp angles, and a pointing corner. i see this is major safety issue. but the customer sat. rep (danner ??)is not taking this seriously. i talked w/ the dealer repair person that he said that he had saw a few of the same problem. i know my car is out of warranty, but i would feel very bad someone else is harm by this defect. i told toyota that i intend to report this to the consumer safety to make sure people aware of this design defect. *tr
