I love my scion however i bought brand new from expressway toyota in dorchester ma in 2005 and with all the recalls i see on here i've only done one, and that the glass windshield. everyt other time i go the dealer and tell them that there are recalls, they ignore me and say that there isn't . i have some rattling noise going on under my car...i fixed once at the dealer and it came back again but now the dealer wants me to pay again to fix it and i think it's a safety concern in the car, the tires are also uneven, i keep having to change tires too often, the hatch lift in the back keeps breaking...major failing and cheap. it feels like it was glued on. i would an answer from the dealer where i bought the car as to why they keep denying my visits on the recalls and why in being charge the same safety work that i've paid once to get fix and now the same rattling noise keeps coming. i never get any information in the mail from my dealer either informing me of these recalls. i guess they are refusing to fix them.

I was on my way to work when the vehicle in front of me came to a complete stop. i was approx. three car lengths behind her (which is plenty of distance at 25mph) when i appllied my brakes though nothing happened. they made a grinding noise (like the pads were gone, but they are new ceramic pads). i ended up hitting the vehicle in front of me. i got a citation for following to close, which is $260.00, my insurance was increased by over $100.00 a month, i had to pay for her car plus $3750.00 of damage on mine. she didnt have insurance and was driving on a suspended license.when i told the officer what had happened with my car he just looked at me as if i were stupid. this is a major problem that is and has cost people a lot of money, not to mention being without a vehicle.

Dt*: the contact stated while traveling 40 mph, the vehicle's front brakes made a loud screeching noise when the brakes were applied and caused increased stopping distances. the vehicle was taken to the dealer on 6 occasions and the front brake pads and discs were replaced twice. this did not remedy the problem. the manufacturer was not contacted.

Dt*: the contact stated while driving 20mph on february 27, 2006 the brakes pulsated and there was a rattling noise present. the brake failure caused the vehicle to slide off the road. there was 15,040 miles on the vehicle when it was towed to the dealership. the dealer was unable to duplicate the problem. the second time the brakes failed was on march 3, 2006. while driving 65mph the brake pedal would not depress. there was 15,200 miles on the vehicle when it was towed in the second time to the dealer. the dealer was unable to duplicate the problem again, because the vehicle computer had reset itself. there were no repairs made.

When the consumer attempted to apply the brakes, the vehicle continued to accelerate which resulted in an accident.*jb the consumer states that previous times when applying the brakes they seem a little slow and occasionally heard an unusually thump noise. the consumer never thought anything about something being wrong with the brakes because it is a brand new car.*sb

On august 17 @ about 4:30 p.m. in ther afternoon the wheels on my scion tc locked up going about 35 mph on the hyperion bridge. i applied the brakes in order to slow down on a slight turn at the end of the bridge and the rear of the car fishtailed and my rear right wheel hit and scraped the curb. nothing yet has been done to correct the problem. i have reported the incident to toyota/scion. it has taken them a week to even get back to me to tell me that a field engineer will be inspecting the vehicle. the car is still at the dealership (toyota of glendale. *ak

I noticed that the front right brake was wearing faster then the left because of an increase in brake dust on that rim. i took the car to a dealer and they told me that there was nothing wrong with the car and it was just wear and tear. i continued to drive the car for another 1000 miles or so and then i noticed that the car would make funny noises and shake and also have a harder time stopping from highway speeds. so i took the car into another dealer and they told me that the car had a faulty, sticking caliper and that the car was unsafe to drive. *nm
