 Tl* the contact owns a 2006 toyota scion xb. the contact stated that as the vehicle was started, all of the warning lamps illuminated and remained illuminated until the engine was turned off. the contact mentioned that the failure recurred several times but would only occur in colder temperatures during winter months. the vehicle was not taken to the dealer and the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. the vehicle was not repaired. the failure mileage was 15,000 and current mileage was 85,000.

 2006 toyota scion xb. consumer states intermittent problems. vehicle stalling, surging and transmission not shifting up or down. *tgw the consumer stated the dealer was unable to duplicate any of the problems. the engine stalled and surged, low/rough idle, slow acceleration, and the engine light illuminated. *jb

 Tl*the contact owns a 2006 scion xb. the service engine lights illuminated. the contact took the vehicle to an authorized dealer and they repaired it. one week later the lights came back on and he took the vehicle back to the dealer. the dealer stated that the brake light fuse was blown and they also replaced the computer. the contact stated that one year later the computer failed and needed to be replaced. the manufacturer advised him that he would replace the computer for $4,000. the failure mileage was 3500 and the was current mileage was 67267. updated 4/13/10 *cn

 Tl*the contact owns a 2006 toyota scion xb. the contact was driving approximately 35 mph on normal road conditions. the vehicle stability control, trac off and the check engine warning light indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. there was a strong odor of fuel outside of the vehicle. the warning indicator remained illuminated until the engine was turned off. the vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on four to five separate occasions for the identical failures. there was a recommendation to replace the fuel cap which was replaced six times. the malfunction continued which there were no resolutions. the vehicle has not been repaired. the failure mileage was 15,000. updated 3/16/10 *cn the consumer was then told the problem was with the charcoal canister. updated 06/11/10.*jb

 Tl*the contact owns a 2006 toyota scion xb. while driving approximately 20 to 50 mph, the headlights dimmed and visibility was reduced. the lights would illuminate again moments later. while driving 30 mph uphill, the vehicle accelerated to 60 mph. the brakes were applied, but would not function unless they were engaged at a rapid pace. occasionally the engine shuts off, the front end shakes while driving 20-50 mph, and the cruise control switch failed to engage. the vehicle continued to burn an excessive amount of fuel after the oil was changed and the check engine light illuminated. the radio failed and the dealer stated that they would replace it when the parts arrive. the mechanic stated that the back of the bumper was split, which caused it to fall off of the vehicle. the dealer also offered her $14,000 for the vehicle only if she paid them $5,000. the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure; however, they stated that the failures were electrical. the failure mileage was 400 and current mileage was 12,000. updated 02-14-08. *kb
