The plastic latch on the rear door of our 2005 sequoia broke in november 2011. we had it replaced at the dealer for a cost of $300. fourteen (14) months later, the plastic handle has broken again. this car has only 75000 miles and has been garage kept its entire life. the dealer offered a discount on the labor but nothing else. the mechanism to adjust the side view mirrors was adjusted several times during warranty but has never worked properly. the radio changes stations at a whim and the dvd player quit working right after the warranty expired. the driver side sun visor has an extremely sharp end that must be hammered back periodically. and, the front and rear wheel bearings had to be replaced at 75000 miles.

I started my car and drove off, and i noticed the vsc trac lights stayed on. the vehicle appears to drive fine, but the vsc trac lights stayed on. upon doing my own research online i discovered that many sequoia owners have experienced the same issue, but toyota has refused to do a recall. this issue with vsc trac is a huge safety concern. through my research i discovered that the vehicle could lose power at any time, and many owners state they hear a grinding noise as the vehicle pulls to the right or left.

The skid control computer on my 2005 toyota sequoia malfunctioned causing low power/low acceleration. the engine has 65,000 miles. because this part failed, several engine parts malfunctioned. the engine nearly blew up as a result. toyota recalled 2003-04 models for this same problem, but has only issued a tsb for the 2005 model. the service department at the dealership explained that my engine would not have nearly exploded had the skid computer not been faulty. i filed a complaint with toyota, and they explained that this part is not considered to be a problem in the 2005 model, and will not assist in repairing it. the estimated repair for this is $4000.

Toyota sequoia 2005 - air injection control valve & pump broke. causing car to completely malfunction. according to mechanic - a blade from the air injector pump broke - dislodged into system and caused corrosion and debris to enter into system cause over $2800 worth of parts needing to be replaced. very uncommon part to replace according to mechanic. toyota dealer had the parts to replace it - causing more concern that this may be a recall item considering the dangerous situation it presents when car completely stops working because of malfunctioning parts.

Our vsc/trac light and engine light simultaneously come on for an unknown reason. our mechanic can not find a solution. our emergency brake light comes on and off for no necessary reason as well. this has happened three or four times and no one can fix it. i am afraid to take it to toyota because of the bad experiences posted online where consumers have received many verying answers, expensive repairs, and in some case, still no solution. we are in the market to buy a new car and it makes resale very difficult with these lights on and no answer as to why they are on... and no way to turn them off... so we wait. many people have posted on the internet about this same problem in other 2005 sequoias. our computer keeps throwing varying and different errors... and my mechanic thinks the errors are not accurate. could it be a computer or electrical malfunction? please help.

My 2005 sr5 sequoia has the same problem that was mentioned in the recall of the 2003 model announced today. it looses power when going over bumps or dips in the road and is particularly hazardous when trying to cross another road. i have learned to work around it but would prefer that it get fixed. incidents have been many occasions since i purchased the vehicle last year.
