TIRES

On 11/25/2012 at about 10:00 pm, after driving on freeway for about 100 miles, the front wheel on driver side began to make a small noise and small vibration and later the tire warning light came on. i stopped by at a rest area and didn?t see any noticeable problem. since it?s about 50 miles away from home, i decided to keep driving it and the noise and vibration continued. i checked the tire the next day and found it flattened. i fixed it with a tire repair plug, pump it and i found a bubble about 4-inch in diameter. i drove back to vineland toyota in vineland, nj on 12/7/2012 since the tire was only 18 months old and was still in warranty. after taking down the tire, i found, on the other side of the tire, there was another bubble in diameter 3-inch. i strongly believe there is a serious safety issue with this model of tires of good year. if i kept driving my vehicle for few more miles, the tire would explode and caused a serious accident! *tr

I bought 4 michelin tires (p205/70r 15 x rad) for my minivan in june 2006. this month the steering wheel of my car started to shake violently at low speed. i brought my car to dealer. i was told that the two belts inside of the tires separated. i was recommended to replace these tires. these tires have a 80,000 mile warranty, but they only run less than 40,000 miles. *tr

The tires showed signs of excessive wear every 15000 to 20000 miles. dealer had front and rear suspension aligned. the tires were rotated, but excessive wear still occurred. the dealer admitted something was wrong with the alignment. *ak the first set of tires was replaced at 17k miles, 2nd 39k miles. in any event, the car continued to pull to the left despite the alignment and rotation.*cb *jb

I had a flat tire and replaced the flat with a different manufacturer than the other 3 tires. because there is 1/16th difference in the tire depth the warning light will not stay out even after resetting it. toyota says that as long as the tires are different the light will not stay out. i say i'm not the only one to ever have a flat tire and replace it with a different manufacturer's tire and there needs to be an adjustment made in the sensor. i didn't ask for this feature; it came with the car. if they're going to put something like this on their cars (and they are planning on putting it on all their new models) they need to have a way to adjust it. it also startles me when the light comes on because i think there's something wrong with the car.*ak

Low tire indicator came on about 1/4 of a mile from home.tire was replaced with spare and upon inspection, found tire to be damaged along the seams or threads.all tires are showing cracksalong the seams at different places on the tire.dealer said tire's guarantee is for 1 year by manufacturer or 36,00 miles in a three year period.i will replace tire at my expense since it seems,i don't have much of a choice.pls keep me informed of future complaints on this situation. *ak (dot number: w2vf tiresize: p215/65r15)

We have had extensive pulling problems and excessive tire wear with our sienna from the 2nd month we have owned it. the tires are very worn out on the outer edges with only 18000 miles. we have had it into our dealer 5 times to fix the problem. we are aware after doing extensive research through the internet that many siennas on the road have this problem and toyota is aware of it, but continues to put people off. i live in the northwest where we have many rainy days and my vehicle is unstable in the rain, with alot of slippage in the tires. this a known problem with the sienna, as evidenced by our research through edmunds.com's town hall which is a forum for people with problem vehicles. numerous people have reported excessive tire wear which is unsafe and a potential hazard. thank you for taking my comments into consideration. i know i am only one person, but the i consider the safety of my children important enough to make my experiences heard. thank you, laurie a. shank. *ak

At 65mph, tire sensor indicated problem. upon removing the front left firestone affinity tire, found a 7.5 separation between the tread and the interior sidewall, with the steel belt in view. further inspection revealed similar wear on front right tire. normal pressures and alignment had been maintained through routine service. local firestone dealer claims tire was not defective, despite toyota indications to that effect and similar experiences with other firestone tires. although i have replaced all four tires, i have retained the defective tire to support investigation. digital photos of the tire are also available. *ak (dot number: w2vfait099 tiresize: p215/65r15)

Tire blew out suddenly and shredded before we could stop. the tire was only 9 months old and had about 11,000 miles on it. no road hazards (like nails, etc) were found to have caused the blow out. (tiresize: 21565r15)( dot number: tire size: 21565r15 )

Our front tires failed by blow out on the right side. left side was just as bad but not blown out. was paper thin on inside corners of tires. had had rotated at 16000 miles and nothing was reported wrong. i know these tires are not the being recalled, and toyota has reimbursed us for a new set of goodyears; but the whole thing is too scary in light of what's going on now with firestones. just wanted to let you know. thanks...robert( dot number: tire size: p205/75r15 )

TIRES - SIDEWALL
402/01/1999
All 4 tires on vehicle have bulges on the exterior sidewalls, did not check interior sidewalls. the left side bulges are the worst, the front being the worst of all. the bulges are nearer to the tread than the center of tire. there are apprx 3 to 5 bulges around the perimeter of the tires. there is no noticible performance issues at this time, but having all tires like this makes me very nervous. i did have a sidewall failure a few months after i purchased the van, but i attributed it to a low speed bump into a low curb as i was making a right hand turn into a gas station. *ak (dot number: w2mof61019 tiresize: p205/70r15)
