I own a 2002 toyota tundra and i have had approximately five occasions where i heard a clunk while driving the toyota tundra as if the transmission was slipping during the month of july 2010. on august 13, 2010, i was driving approximately 75 mph when i had driven the tundra approximately 200 miles, i pulled off of the highway to refill with gasoline and as i slowed down to the pump, the tundra began to excessively shake and stalled. i then started the vehicle up which started well and i cut it off to refill with gasoline. once i began to take off, the tundra began to shake again and stalled, not more than 1/10th of a mile from the pump. i started the vehicle again and when i put the tundra in gear, the tundra continuously stalled no matter whether in drive, neutral or reverse. every time i started the vehicle and put it in a gear, it would stall. the vehicle was towed to my residence which was approximately 100 miles. my failure mileage was approximately 89,000 miles.

Today i was cruising along at 50mph and my truck (2002 toyota tundra v8) felt as if the fuel cut out. i let off the throttle and got back into it and the response was very slow. then there was no reponse at all as i coasted to a stop. the truck idled, but no response to the accelerator. this problem has accured twice in the last week. toyoyta troubleshooting code says it is a faulty accelerator pedal position sensor. they want $500 to fix.

We bought a used 2002 toyota tundra on 6-16-2005 that had 45,134 miles on it. it now has 109000 miles on it . when we first bought the trcuk from the delearship, the brakes were replaced before we took it home becasue we noticed a vibration. since then, we have replaced the brakes, pads, etc. twice. we now have to have the vehicle serived again becasue while driving the truck shakes violently at around 40 mph and braking literally shakes the entire truck. it seems highly unreasonable to have to replace the braking system 4 times in three years of ownership. i belive that there is a serious defect in the braking system in the 2002 toyota tundra that could lead to accidents causing injury or death. when will toyota recall these vehicles due to manufacturing defects in their braking system? i am starting the inident date as of the date of purchase since that is when we first had the brakes replaced. i now have to pay more money to have the entire truck braking system corrected again so that we do not end up in harms way. toyota needs to step up and review all the complaints that have been filed about this complain. something is wrong with the braking system in this vehicle.
