On september 26, 2007, toyota filed a defect information report and notified nhtsa that some of its model year (my) 2007 and 2008 lexus e350 and toyota camry vehicles could experience unintended and uncontrolled acceleration due to interference between the optional all weather floor mat offered on those vehicles and the vehicles' accelerator pedal.this decision was influenced by an office of defects investigation (odi) engineering analysis.this recall was designated 07e082.two years later, on october 5, 2009, toyota filed a defect information report and notified nhtsa that a number of its my 2004-2009 lexus and toyota vehicles may also experience unintended and uncontrolled acceleration due to interference between the accelerator pedal and the driver's floor mat.this recall was designated 09v388.several months later, on january 27, 2010, toyota filed an amended, or supplemental, defect information report and expanded the population of vehicles to include additional my 2008-2010 toyota and lexus vehicles.since this expansiontook place in a different calendar year, this recall was designated 10v023.separately on january 21, 2010, toyota filed a defect information report and notified nhtsa that certain toyota vehicles and certain pontiac vibe vehicles contained a safety defect in the accelerator pedal assembly that may cause the accelerator pedal to become harder to depress, slower to return, or in the worse case, mechanically stuck in a partially depressed position.nhtsa designated this recall 10v017.in total, the four recalls cover over 7.6 million toyota and lexus vehicles as well as the pontiac vibe product made by new united motor manufacturing, inc., a venture of toyota and general motors corporation.nhtsa requires additional information from toyota to more fully understand and evaluate, among other things, whether the scope of the recalls identified above (makes, models and model years) is sufficiently broad.the agency is seeking to determine whether toyota viewed the underlying defects too narrowly as interference between the accelerator pedal and the driver

I am the owner of a 2007 toyota tundra and while driving cross country with my wife and 2yo daughter the truck automaticly went into limp mode while driving 65 mph and stopped dead almost causing an accident.trouble codes were pulled and found to be air injection valves for emission control upon startup only .this was midway thru a 2300 mile trip.truck has 67000 miles on it and it out of warranty so cost to me is between 4000-5000 $.truck should not enter limp mode while driving as it is just a matter of time before an accident occors

Toy. 2007 5.7 crew-max 4+4 p2440 code came on and truck went into safety mode .greatly reduced speed . 4 lo lt. comes on as well as engine, traction and anti slip lts. i carry a hand-held code detector and clear the code as soon as it comes up and continuously clear it as i'm driving. toyota wanted 3400.00 to fix this defect after i bought 3 new tundras from them every 3 years. this has gone on for 13 mo. 8 mo. into it my truck started dying and would not start for several min.while i was driving on interstate and was stranded in middle of road more than once. this went on for 1 week 2 different times than it started running again with just the p2440 code coming up all the time and shutting me down. this has happened to many many people including my brother in law who also had a 2007 tundra ex. cab. they fixed his because he was only 1500 mile out of warranty. when my trouble started i was at 70,000+ mi. defect has nothing to do with amt. of miles, just time(after 3 yrs.)after 13 mo. still no help from toyota and no recall. please help, phillip

My wife came very close to getting into an accident while bringing the kids to school a few weeks ago. she was leaving a stop sign getting onto a very busy highway when our 2007 toyota tundra unexpectedly had drastically reduced power. after a trip to the dealership and some research i have found that the reduction in power was caused by a failure in the secondary air injection system. this system is part of the emissions system and is designed to increase efficiency during cold starts. when there is a failure in this system the ecm (onboard computer) goes into a mode in which the available power from the engine is dramatically reduced. toyota has recommended that i replace two air injection pumps and a switching valve set at an estimate of over $3500. i am researching other options because they tell me that this problem can continue to reoccur over and over again.

I have a 2007 toyota tundra sr5 double cab and have had all of my regular maintenance completed on time and at a local toyota dealership. i have made the complaint of my gas pedal sticking and my floor mats were not an issue. they claim they fixed the recall problem with adding a part to the gas pedal. since i have had my truck back, it has not worked properly. the gas pedal still accelerates on its on or decelerates on its on. the gas pedal floats with your foot so the engine is constantly making the rpm's rise and fall constantly upon riding over bumps or hills. i don't want a part to be installed, i want the entire pedal to be replaced! i like my truck, however, the engine does not run correctly and is constantly making a ticking sound like a diesel engine would sound. i have made several complaints to the dealership and they are constantly telling me it is ok and nothing is wrong. transmissions are not made to just down shift 3 gears right off the bat on the interstate on flat ground. nothing has been done to try to correct this problem as they proclaim there is no problem. they are crazy! pulling a horse trailer made it difficult for the transmission to shift properly and it was in tow mode. it took 1 mile or longer for it to shift from 1/2 gear to 4 gear and the rpm's were over 2,500.. this is not normal. i felt it would never shift downward from 1/2 gear. i am afraid to pull my horses with the transmission acting this way. *tr
