| My tundra was making scraping noises when turning. brought the truck to toyota for service to find out the rear bearings on both sides were rusting out and they had to be replaced. service representative said he called toyota already even though my warranty had long passed. he stated that toyota had increased the warranty on the bearings to a 5 year/65,000 miles. toyota did pay about 1/4 th of the cost. seems as though they know there is a defect in the bearing but not willing to cover the total cost of repair. this is the first time i have ever had bearing issues on any vehicle that i have owned. i drive most of my vehicles for about 8 years or more. thus one of the reasons i buy toyotas. not sure if that will be true any longer. | |||

| Temperature in utica, ny on jan 15 at 10 am was -10 degrees. a 5 hour ride back home in snow, dirt, and rain i tried to operate the windshield wiper fluid on the highway 90 west. it would not work because it was frozen. after trying a couple times more, the visibility got worse with temperatures at 5 degrees. had to pull over to clean the windshield many times until arriving to 23 degree weather. it worked when i arrived home. i also notices the exhaust pipe that seems to touch the exhaust pipe has burnt a hole in the mud flap. this had happened sometime between my trip to utica on jan 14-15. there has been no add-on mod to the exhaust pipe and the mud-flap but are now sticking together. is this a fire hazard? | |||

| The engine check light came on and the engine went into limp mode, which reduces engine power making it dangerous to drive. the check engine light came on from the emissions valve set failing. when repaired by dealer they also discovered a cracked manifold. this emissions valve set failure seems to be very common on 2008 tundras and is very expensive to repair. to my surprise the manifold was cracked and that is a very expensive repair and may have contributed to the emissions valve set failure. toyota should recall their emissions valve set and redesign it so it does not fail, and is less expensive to replace, and finally they should not program the engine to go into limp mode if this failure occurs, as it can cause you to lose power while driving in various conditions that require power to get off the road safely. | |||

| Unintended acceleration. i was in a stop position waiting for traffic signal to change, when the vehicle wanted to accelerate on it own thru the intersection, while my foot was on the brake. the traffic signal was still red for me. the engine indicator light was on, vsc off, traction control system indicator was also lite. multi-infornation display mpg gallon guag was getting stuck at 60miles per gallon. tire pressure sensor keep coming on. veh. started to idle rough. i took my veh. to the toyota dealer for inspection and service. they keep my veh. from approx from oct 29,10 to nov.6,10. toyota dealer response was that the engine had a severe missfire that may have been taken for a slight surge. the #1 & 3 fuel injectors replaced. acceleration pedal replaced. on nov. 13,10 the veh. had unintended acceration on two separate occocasion when parking veh. in driveway. the vehicle was burning rubber while i had foot on brake, because we would have gone thru garage door. i called the toyota dealer from location, who made an appointment for 11-15-10 at 7am. dealer stated that toyota was comming down on thursday 11-18-10 to inspect vehicle. i did not hear a backfire from engine on ist incident. 2nd incident had two passengers,, and two workers waiting at location who witnesed both incidents. | |||

| I have a toyota tundra 2008, after the dealer change the a/c cabin filter start a wet rag smell inside the car( mold smell) , this problem started a year before, when you used the a/c on max or recirculate the smell is less but when you use on vent only or air from outside smells a lot, has been past already a year and the dealer dont want to do anything about it even that i have a platinum toyota care service plan. now all my family are experiementing all kind of allergies include hay fever_type symptoms, such as sneezing, runny nose, red eyes and skin rash. the dealer had change the a/c cabin filter twice but the problem still there. we think that theres mold on the a/c system. they said that probably is not condensating the water so well or is letting the outside water comes in to the a/c system which probably is a a/c design problem. | |||

| 2008 toyota tundra 4wd 5.7l failure began feb of 2010 truck entered limp mode and was taken to dealer for diagnostics. problem determined to be bank 2 valve stuck open for secondary air injection system on my vehicle. truck has entered in and out of limp mode consistently for up to a week at a time since issue surfaced. during limp mode vehicle cannot accelerate properly and is limited in power and speed, creating many dangerous situations especially involving highway travel. for example, vehicle often cannot accelerate over 50-55mph solely, and i have even become trapped on an interstate at 26mph pulling a trailer. toyota has failed to accept responisibility for problem and denied my claim regarding issue and defect causing the situation. | |||

| I have a toyota tundra 2008, will leaving the bank, i was slowly approaching a stop sign. there was a car in front of me already waiting at the stop sign. i tried to step on the brake, and the floor mat came up over the brake peddle, restricting me from fully pressing down the pedal. i could not stop, i turned my truck to run into the the curb and not hit the car in front of me, i hit the curb and ran up on the side walk. while moving slowly i quickly removed the mat from over the peddle, and brought my vehicle to a complete stop. no one was injured, no damage to any property. now i have received a letter from toyota today coincidentily asking me to turn in my truck for recall. | |||

| I purchased my 2008 tundra in march of 2008. after have the truck for 30 days, i noticed scratches in the paint. i took my truck down to the dealer, and they wanted me to pay $700 to put simoniz on my paint. i was not going to pay if there was a paint problem with my 2008 tundra. every time i washed my truck more and more scratches started showing up. i started waxing the paint to remove them, but they keep appearing. i contacted toyota, and they said to take it to the service manager. i took it to the service manager and he said he could not do anything until the toyota rep looked at it. i waited until the rep was in town, and i took it to him. the toyota rep said he could see that my paint was scratching but he did not see that it was a warranty item. he said since the paint is not bubbling, peeling or falling off that it is not a warranty item. plus he said since my paint is scratching from an external source that toyota would not warranty it. they would not get a professional to look at it, and would not allow an independent paint professional to look at it. they said i could take it to whomever i wanted but they would not accept whatever they found. toyota has a paint problem, but they will not do anything about it. i am not alone... we have started a petition on line, but it really will not have any affect unless someone bigger gets involved. http://friendsite.com/users/petitions/sign/content_petitioned-1_2007%2b+toyota+tundra%27s+paint+quality.html2b+toyota+tundra%27s+paint+quality.html. *tr | |||
