| Following our opening of this pe and subsequent discussions with triumph motorcycles ltd, the company decided to launch a safety-related recall of all rocket iii model motorcycles to address occurrences of sudden and un-foreseen tip-out stalling.this action was taken in lieu of responding to nhtsa's information request and involves the installation of an upgraded ecu incorporating revised engine management software. with triumph's safety-related recall, this pe is closed. | ||||||

| Tl-the contact owns a 2007 triumph rocket 3 classic motorcycle. while driving 15 mph the vehicle starting making a noise that sounded like it was coming from the rear drive. the contact stated he called the dealer and he was advised that the vehicle was no longer under warranty but the manufacture agreed to repair the vehicle. the dealer order the part to replace the rear drive and the part was stolen. the part was reorder and the vehicle was taken in on march 30, 2010, the dealer replaced the final drive. this did not correct the problem and the dealer installed a upgrade kit. the contact stated he went to pick up his vehicle today june 29, 2010 and the vehicle locked in second gear. he drove the vehicle back to the dealer. the contact stated that his vehicle has been at the dealer for more than three months. the failure mileage was 4,630 and the current mileage was 4,650. vwb | |||
