Defect SummaryCertain utilimaster model year 2009 through 2011 aeromaster and one model year 2011 reach work trucks manufactured from september 1, 2009, through december 22, 2011, fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 206, door locks and door retention components.
Consequence SummaryCertain work trucks are not equipped with either a primary door latch system or a door latch system with a fully latched position and a door closure warning system as required by fmvss 206. without a door closure warning system, the driver may not be aware that the door is not fully latched. the door could partially open without warning and the driver may be at an increased risk of injuries in the event of a crash.
