Both the petiton for rulemaking, defect, and noncompliance order, and the petiton for hearing on notification and remedy are denied.the agency has determined that both petitions are moot given that the manufacturer decided there was a safety defect in its motorcycles and issued owner and dealer notifications and supplied a free remedy where needed.a copy of the published notice further explaining this decision can be found in the notice of denial document in this file.

Power train is noisy and does not catch third gear, goes back to second gear when you attempt to go to third gear causing bike to jerk forward violently, really tense and scary moment. *tr

My victory v92c with 12000 miles on it will slip out of 3rd gear. also has a hard time finding neutral and sometimes slips into neutral while shifting. this has been going on for about 3 months now and i would estimate has happened about 50 times. it has gotten to the point now that i just skip 3rd gear and go to 4th. *jb

Consumers states that the bike has false neutral between 2nd and 3rd shift and misses gears all the time. once it has shifted to third gear it will make a noise and down shift back into second gear. the consumer was told the only way to fix the problems weas to upgrade the transmission. the problem continued and the transmission locked up twice. updated 03/17/06. *jb

I own a victory polaris 2000 v92c se. my transmission failed and it appears that there is a long history of transmission failures and deaths associated with the failure. i only had 6,000 miles on the transmission when it failed in 4th gear with several drops, skipping and false neutrals. bob young of the nhts looked at my bike when the transmission was opened up and took pictures of the failed parts. i have had the transmission replaced but i am out over $2000.  I purchased my 2000 v92c used. it had 7500 miles on it. after putting on 2200 miles the transmission began to act up. it would kick down from third to second surprising the hell out of me! to keep this from occurring i typically attempted to keep my toes underneath the shifter thus, keeping the trans from kicking down to 2nd gear. on rare occasions the trans would kick down to 3rd from 4th. on only one occasion have i had the trans slip from 4th to 2nd. this happened in traffic and scared the lady behind me quite abit.i notified my dealer about it and he was surprised. the bike is going in for it's 10k check-up and i expect that the tranny will not get fixed without a few $$. it should be brought to the attention of the safety folks and the trans should be replaced or repaired at minimal cost to those that no longer have a warranty.*ak

Several times in last year i have experienced neutral shifts when going from 2 cd gear to 3 rd gear , 6 times the transmissin felt like it shift from 2 cd to 3 rd but had not shifted at all and was still in 2 cd gear , giving me feeling rear tire was starting to lockup while i was letting out the clutch . *ak
