FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

While maintaining highway speed (55 mph) and with a full tank of gas (4.5 gallons) the fuel tank suddenly emptied its entire contents from underneath the fuel tank resulting in my left leg being covered with gasoline and the motorcycle skidded due to fuel covering rear tire leading to loss of traction ,almost resulting in a crash. my motorcycle mechanic who has over 40 years experience as a certified motorcycle mechanic is unable to pinpoint the exact cause of the leaking fuel tank. my mechanic states that the fuel tank still leaks fuel and it needs to be replaced in order to avoid a crash or fire. *tr
