I would like to file a complaint regarding my air bag warning indicator light remaining on due to a faulty air bag. i took my vehicle to the local vw dealership to have it serviced and was told the problem i am having with my air bag light was not included in the recent air bag recall issued by vw. i was told by the technician that my air bag warning light is on because my entire passenger seat airbag including the harness must be replaced in order to be operable. i was also told the airbag system would not work w/o repair. this failure occurred on my vehicle which is 5 years old and has 35,286 miles. it is not covered by vw because the warranty exp'd at 3 yrs/36k miles. my vehicle has far less mileage average than a vehicle newer than it is. this safety equipment failure should not have occurred on a vehicle this new unless there was something wrong with it. i did not do anything to cause this failure to occur. further, i very seldom ride with others so i see no plausible reason as to why this failure would have occurred in reference to the seat used least in my vehicle. i was quoted a repair price of $900 to have it repaired and i feel vw should be responsible for this amount not me. three days ago i contacted vw customer care and have been waiting for someone to call me back regarding whether or not vw will pay the cost of this repair. in the meantime, i am without the use of my vehicle as i am scared to drive it in fear that i can get into an accident and the airbags will not deploy. *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2007 volkswagen jetta. while driving approximately 25 mph, the contact drove over an uneven road surface, which was raised about 2 inches from the ground, and the front driver and passenger side air bags inadvertently deployed. the vehicle was towed to the dealer for diagnostic testing where the technician advised that there were aftermarket shocks that could have caused an impact with the sub frame. the technician advised that the impact could have caused the air bags to deploy but did not guarantee that it was the cause of the deployment. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the cost of diagnostic testing or repairs would not be covered. the vehicle was not repaired. the approximate failure mileage was 51,608.

I would like to file a complaint regarding my air bag warning indicator light remaining on due to a faulty seat belt. i recently took my car to the vw dealership to have my car service and was told that the problem i am having with my air bag light was not included in the recent air bag recalled vw issued. i was told my the technician that my air bag warning light is on because my entire driver's seat belt needs to be replaced. i am hoping that vw would look into this problem because my seat belt works perfectly fine and there is nothing i could have done to cause this damage.

2007 volkswagen jetta had a rattling noise in the windshield. consumer states that the noise grew in intensity and annoyance. he tried to find the location of the noise and lightly tapped the windshield and it cracked. *nj the consumer stated after the windshield cracked, the air bag light illuminated. the dealer claimed a rock may have hit the windshield, however the consumer stated that was not the case. the dealer also stated the air bag light illuminating had nothing to do with the cracked windshield. the dealer fixed the air bag problem, but they did not fix the windshield. *jb

I bought my car last year 02/15/2007, its a volkswagen jetta wolfsburg edition yr. 2007.. here are the incidents with my car: 1) 08/06/ 2007- horn is not working. according to vw service men they found a faulty spiral spring via gff test plan r&i driver airbag, steering wheel, column trim and steering column electronics control module r&r spiral spring and performed basic settings during road test and ckl'd ok. 2) 08/06/ 2007- airbag light indicator is on. according to vw servicemen they found a fault for the driver side airbag igniter resistance too high after unplugging the component and replacing it within a known good one found that the value in the measure value blocks didn't change and checking the steering wheel control moudleconnectors to see if they were damaged they figured it could only be the spiral spring that is faulty. ordered spiral spring. 3)11/08/ 2007- performed recall q-8 / inspect headlights 4) 01/08/2008- break is making noise.. according to vw service men they checked for noise from brakes, found rear brake pads were metal to metal. replaced rear brake pads and rotors. found e-brakes cables adjusted too tight adjusted cables. found rear calipers dragging. replaced bad calipers and performed test drive. 4) 01/19/ 2008- when i turned on my airconditioner on last saturday, 01/19/ 2008 a smoked is coming out through my rite rear tire and it smells like something is burning. i called the vw service they said i can come in on monday anytime to have it checked. i did come in yesterday monday, january 21, 2008 to have it checked one of the service men test drive the car with me but then there is no smoke coming out anymore so what he advised me to do is just take my car with me again and if it happens again then come back. he just look around my car and the hood and didn't find anything wrong. my concerns is i don't think am safe driving my car anymore because i don't know what's going happen next, and i think my car will be considered as a lemon car. *tr

I was involved in a side crash and the driver air bag, dash airbag and passenger air bag all deployed. the dashboard airbag deployed with such force, it broke the rear view mirror off of the windshield and crushed my hand between it and the driver airbag, which broke all the bones in my hand and i had to have pins placed in my hand. *tr

Air bag light comes on and stays on in the vehicle until engine is stopped. this has been going on since i purchased the vehicle back in july of 2007. they've reset the codes, replaced the seatbelt buckle and reset the connectors that have something to do with the airbags and nothing has worked. i've taken it back to the original dealer (where i purchased the car) four times for the same problem and it's still not fixed. i've called volkswagen of america about this problem and they've done nothing. they suggested i bring it back to the dealership. *tr

My wife was driving her 2007 vw jetta when she was t-boned from a gmc suv, approx. speed of gmc was 40 mph and approx speed of jetta was 45 mph. the jetta was struck at a 90 degree angle directly into the drivers side door. the impact was enough that my wife needed to be removed from her car with the jaws of life. the steering column airbag deployed however the multiple side and lumbar airbags did not deploy. had these deployed her injures would had been much less severe. both cars are being totaled by the insurance companies. this vehicle was purchased specifically because of the safety features, now after contacting vw, mindy prentice regional consultant volkswagen customer care is trying to tell me that the this isn't the type of crash that would trigger side airbags. however after talkig to multiple dealers in the area as well as going back to my initial suspitions it seems that the side airbags most certainly should have deployed.
