| I was driving on the highway doing about 55 miles an hour with full traffic and my jetta sputtered and began to lose speed-quickly, i tried to accelerate by pressing gas petal but nothing happened and i luckily coasted into store parking lot. i tried to restart it but it would not restart. i had it towed to vw dealership and they called me the next day to say it was the intercoolant system and it would be 1300.00. very very lucky i was not hit. | |||

| My 2010 vw tdi sportwagon eats up the inside of the tires, very quickly. i just purchased my fifth set of tires for a car with less than 70,000 miles on it. i've had the alignment checked three times, and it continually shows to be within specs. the first two times, i had a vw dealership check the alignment, and both times they told me there was nothing they could do. i just had a private mechanic check the alignment, and he said i couldn't have a more perfect alignment, according to vw's specs. the last set of tires i purchased were rated for 55,000 miles, but i only got 15,000 out of them before the insides were worn down into the belts. this is a very dangerous situation since the rest of the tire looks new, and unless you get the car up on a lift, or lay down on the ground to deliberately look at the inside of the tires, you cannot see the damage taking place, and placing the operator in a situation where a blow-out can occur without warning. plus, not to mention the extremely high cost of tire purchases to operate this vehicle. | |||

| While exiting a parking at a stop sign, when accelerating out past the stop sign at approximately 10 mph the car's engine suddenly lost power and died. after the vehicle once again returned to a complete stop, i was able to restart the engine after putting the car into park. taken into dealership 10 days later for schedule service and maintenance; nothing out of the ordinary was found. | |||

| Dsg mechatron unit failure: vehicle had multiple check engine light displays. the light would come on, then go off for some time and the dealer kept telling me it was probably a gas cap issue. finally after about 4-8 times of this happening i advised the dealer i was brining it in to get looked at. dropped the vehicle off on sept 8th and they have no idea when the part will come in. have said it may be november 7th, but that is not guaranteed. this vehicle had changed gears while my wife was driving and almost made it uncontrollable for her and it is not safe. | |||

| While driving at 35mph, car stalled out. battery light flashed, radio etc stayed on, but car had no power at all. rolled to next intersection, turned car off, and restarted it. took it to dealer, they said it was a software update, which they then performed. aug. 24 exiting i95, 65mph, same thing happens, i pressed the gas and the engine was totally dead. lights and radio stayed on. once again i rolled to a stop, and restarted the car. took it to the dealer, they kept it for an hour and said there was nothing wrong with my car. so i took it to another dealer. after having my car for a week they were able to duplicate my problem. their computers were hooked up to my car at the time, and showed no faults. so they were back and forth with vw tech support, and they are flying in an engineer, and they think it might be the steering control module malfunctioning. they have had my car for two weeks now, i have no idea when it will be fixed, if ever. | |||

| On july 21 at approx 1730hrs while driving less than 15mph the engine shut off and had to pull over with no engine. i pulled over and the engine would not start innuetral but had to start with the engine in park. the vehicle is a 2010 vw jetta diesel. vehicle was checked by the vw dealer on 7/23 and no codes could be found and they ndicated nothing was wrong. called you complaint office 8/8 and odj # 10417948. | |||

| Vehicle stumbles usually within the first couple of miles of travel after starting the vehicle. usually occurs during mild acceleration and around 30-45 mph. vehicle does this very often. i have read much about this problem on line and have been waiting to hear about a fix for the problem. sounds like vw has still not offered up a solution to the problem after many months so i now wish to file this complaint. i had conversation with vw in which i was told that this is a diesel personality trait. well i believe this personality trait may also be responsible for several occasions of stalling of the vehicle when taking off from a start. the so called personality trait can occur when you are engaging the clutch from a standing still position. if this happens it causes the vehicle to stall. this is not safe. if true however i have no way to prove it. the only proof that is repeatable is the stumbling issue. | |||

| On a 40 degree day i drove the car about 1 mile. at a traffic lite it stalled. i had to keep the car in park until the light changed, then i put it in drive. when the car was initially started it didn't seem right - didn't seem to have power or pick up. i noticed the tachometer wasquickly bouncing between 1800 rpm down to 400rpm prior to stalling. car had half a tank of diesel, outside weather conditions were dry. | |||

| I purchased my 2010 jetta in may of 2010. less than one year later i have experienced power loss on four separate occasions. each time this occurred i was coming to a stop after driving between 20-30 miles. it should be noted that there was no check engine light illuminated. two days later i took it to the dealership who attempted to duplicate the problem which as i had imagined they could not. | |||

| I was driving my 2010 vw jetta with my husband and 6 yr old daughter, under normal weather conditions approaching an intersection, about to turn left across the intersection when my vehicle just died. it was towed into where i purchased it seeing as it was only 90 days old and they have had it since. there has been no formal diagnosis, i was told it could be electrical and some electrical wires were cleaned and replaced. | |||

| Yesterday (18/09/2010), my 2010 jetta tdi stalledd for 1-2 secs when we were crossing to another side of the street after picking my son from a birthday party. we werer almost rammed by another car which was going at a high rate of speed. the ngine stalls for 1-2 secs before going again even though i had stepped the gas pedal alll the way down.it refired again and sped up again. i dont know what have caused this but my oldest son also noticed that during his everyday driving to university. have reported to vw canada website complaint today (19/09/2010). espceially occurred in first and second gear. | |||
