SEAT BELTS

On four separate occasions, the rear seatbelts have locked in the fully withdrawn position and will not retract, requiring complete mechanism replacement. this occurred initially after purchase on a road trip with our kids, then recently again on both sides, and again just a week ago. on all but the most recent ocurrence were replaced at no charge by vw. the most recent ocurrence makes us believe this is a true defect in the mechanism. vw has not, to my knowledge, acknowledged any defect or made a revision to the part. the safety concern is that the belt will lock and not retract during transit, endangering my passengers in the event of an accident.
