 Tl-the contact owns a 2006 volkswagen new beetle. the contact stated the vacuum pump to the brakes malfunctioned causing brake fluid to leak as well as a low brake pedal. the contact was unaware of the faulty brake vacuum pump until the vehicle was taken to a local mechanic for what was thought to be leaking oil. the local mechanic stated the vacuum pump brake needs to be replaced. the contact called the vehicle manufacturer regarding the braking system and they stated since the vehicle is out of the warranty they can not assist with the repairs. the contact stated this is a manufacturers defect that could have cause a major crash while driving. the failure mileage was 86,000. jo

 Dt*: the contact stated while attempting to apply brake pressure at all speeds, the brakes went to the floor and would not return to the normal up position. the driver had to pull up on the brake pedal to apply brake pressure. also, the transmission fails to maintain engaged when inclined. although the dealer was alerted no inspections have been made.
