We are complaining about my grandaughters 2005 vw beetle convertible vin/3vwcd31y75m365249 currently in shop for front drivers side electric window relay problem. was advised there had been a recall on some vw beetles for this problem but this was not one of the recalled ones. in searching the internet it appears it should have been , seems there have been numerous individuals having the same problem we have.

Rear driver side window regulator just stopped working as the window was going down. it would not respond to the button and made a grinding noise. i had to manually return it to the closed position and now it will not operate at all. when checking online for this issue and speaking to the vw dealer i found that they are aware of this problem and have already settled a suit for the front window regulator but it did not include the rear one. the dealer advised me that vw would replace the part but they would not pay for the labor. so they are aware of the issue yet are not willing to include the rear window problem because it was not speciffically addressed in the settlement of the suit.

We have a 2005 vw new beetle. it has 2 broken rear window regulators. vw quotes hundreds each to fix, with the same faulty parts it was built with. no assurance it will not break again at any time. also, the 2 front windows have a drop down feature when opening to allow glass to enter seal. this does not work either. vw is well aware of these problems & refuses to fix.

My 2005 volkswagen beetle convertible driver side window was stuck in the down position, and the regulator had to be replaced at a cost of $331.55. the same situation occurred with both rear windows in feb. of 2008, but vw had a recall on those windows, and fixed them free. there has been no recall for front windows, even though internet forums show many other beetle owners have this problem with front windows. also, my previously owned 2001 beetle had a stuck passenger side window, and cost about $300 to repair.

My daughter drives a 2005 volkswagen convertible. it has numerous safety issues: 1. the tail lights cease working although the bulbs are good. the bulb contacts are inadequate for both tail lights. this has occurred four times on her car in the past three years. 2. the convertible headliner pulls away from the rear window and droops in front of the rear window blocking the view in the rear view window. this has occurred 5 times in the past 4 years and she has stopped using the convertible top to prevent her from having a accident. 3. the power windows have failed while she was driving. the windows would not come up. this has happened three times in three years. these problems have been experienced by many vw owners (do a google search). they are all safety issues.
