| The power steering makes a very loud groaning noise all of the time. i am concerned that there could be a steering failure. the dealer has checked this complaint a many times dating back to 2002 and found no problems and said the power steering fluid was normal and not leaking. problem is getting worse. *tr | |||

| Dt: the consumer stated on 2001 volvo s80 the steering wheel locked while driving 5 mph. this lasted for about 3-4 seconds and then the steering resumed back to normal. the consumer was turning the wheel so hard that it broke the turn signal. the consumer took the car to the dealership and they said that they had never heard of this. the dealer constacted the manufacturer. the manufacturer denied any knowledge of the problem. the dealer could not find anything wrong the car and returned it back to the owners. the car has not had any more problems. *ak *nm | |||

| Dt*: the contact stated the power steering reservoir hose connecting clamp leaked fluid. the vehicle was seen by a dealer and connecting clamp was replaced. afterwards, the power steering fluid continued to leak and the vehicle was taken back to the dealer. the service department determined the clamp needed to be replaced again. | |||

| 2001 volvo s80 series developed problems with the steering and the braking system.***no answer required***. *mr while exiting a parking lot, the vehicle ceased to operate. the vehicle towed and the consumer was assured the problem had been resolved, however 8 months later the incident happened again. the consumer had several electrical repairs done on the vehicle, such as the interior lights, the power windows, the battery was defective which had to be replaced twice, the alarm would go off for no reason, the head light bulbs and tail light bulbs were replaced. the key would not turn in the ignition, the engine light illuminated, there was a front suspension noise when going over bumps. there was a power steering leak due to a loose hose clamp. the parking brake needed to be adjusted, it did not hold on an incline. *jb | |||
