Defect Summary | Vehicle description: heavy duty trucks built with bendix air abs with an ec-17 1030r electronic control unit (ecu), there have been reports of unwanted abs activation at low speeds caused by 1) chafed abs wheel speed sensor wires on rotating parts or 2) a damaged component at the wheel end that generates a certain type of erratic sensor signal. | |||||||||||||||

Tl- the contact owns a 2000 volvo vnl. the contact received a letter from volvo that states the even though the vehicle has the same part, which is the drag link, as the vehicles under recall manufactured from 1/2000 to 8/2005, the vehicle would have to be repaired at the owners expense. the contact stated the drag link has been on this vehicle from 1/1995-82005. the contacts vehicle was manufacturer in september 1999. the contact had not had any issues with the part at the time of the complaint, but is concerned about a lose of steering in the future. the vin was not available at the time of the complaint. the failure mileage and current mileages was 406000.rl | |||
