Defect SummaryEquipment description: heavy duty brake fluid, 12 ounce bottles packaged by warren oil company between july 13 and july 14, 1999. in efforts to improve the color of the brake fluid, a lower amount of amine was used in the inhibitor package, which then resulted in a lower ph. these units of brake fluid does not comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 116, motor vehicle brake fluids.
Consequence SummaryIf the brake fluid ph balance is lower than required by federal regulations, corrosion could occur resulting in poor braking ability.
Corrective SummaryThe manufacturer will notify all its purchasers to remove any unsold bottles of the affected brake fluid and return it to warren oil company for free replacement fluid.

 The labeling on the front of the container states 5w30 motor oil: on the back of the container states dextron 111 transmission fluid, because of this mislabeling of the container oil was poured into the transmission instead of transmission fluid, which destroyed in engine. the insurance company is negotiating whether to total the vehicle or replace the part, because of the transmission extensive damage. model name track oil distributed by race track distributors incorporated. *ak
