Defect Summary | On certain pull, fifth wheel and toy-hauler recreational trailers equipped with a two-door refrigerator manufactured by the dometic corporation, the refrigerator may have a defect in the boiler tube. pressurized coolant solution could be released into an area where an ignition source (gas flame) is present.
Consequence Summary | Release of coolant under certain conditions could ignite and result in a fire.
Corrective Summary | Weekend warrior will be working with dometic in order to repair these refrigerators (please see 06e076). dometic will repair these refrigerators by installing a secondary burn housing, a thermal fuse, and a melt fuse free of charge. dometic has retained stericycle inc. to manage this campaign. stericycle will assist the owner in locating dealerships or service centers and will provide assistance with scheduling of appointments. owners may contact dometic/stericycle at 1-888-446-5157 or weekend warrior at 1-909-579-0353.

Weekend warrior trailers: class action lawsuit settled concerning following safety items. i am reporting more safety defects not covered in the lawsuit. to date i have suffered a bent frame, seven blown tires, and my trailer sways too much to tow at highway speeds. full information can be accessed by going to www.trailersettlement.com 1. frame on many models not built strong enough. they bend, causing the trailer to tow poorly for many reasons such as the weight distribution bars and sway control being defeated. also can cause overloaded hitches. 2. tires were of insufficent load carrying ability. the suit covered new tires. there have been hundreds of blowouts. no factory requirement/recommendation to upgrade. 3. weekend warrior far underrated the dry weight of many trailers. mine was about 1,000 lbs. heavier than specified. i found out late january when weekend warrior sent me a notice. 4. trailers not designed so that 15% of tongue weight can be applied to many models without overloading the strongest hitch available. read www.glamisdunes.net and search for weekend warrior threads on bending hitches. 5.the axles may be underrated for the trailers max gross weight. 6. emergency brake-away switch on at least many models melts wiring within seconds of being activated. the incident date is the approximate start date of my problems. *tr

Request nhtsa to review letter to determine if a recall or safety bulletin should be issued for carlisle radial st tires. *ph since purchase, the consumer experienced gross failure of all 7 tires and have replaced them all. the latest failure and subsequent failure revealed that all remaining carlisle tires were separating tread from the casing. the tire seemed to have disintegrated while being driven on the highway. it tore away so violently that it damaged underneath the trailer. others have experienced this problem as well with carlisle tires.
